of course yes, poker has made people who are in bad economic conditions, can achieve fame and money, if I would earn money it will help the most needs of my country, around the world there have been many cases of players who come from low resources and become millionaires thanks to poker, I would really use my earnings to help those most in need in my country , Venezuela, since we are going through a very complex and complicated situation, remember that poker is a mental sport, where Players put their skills and knowledge on the table.

For most people, online poker is actually not profitable. But that's not because the poker software is rigged. The poker software makes enough revenue from the rake. The software does not have to artificially raise the pots. No, there are simpler reasons and that is called variance. Let's do the math all through. The winnings in online poker are not as high as in live poker, as many of the advantages of a good player are lost, such as the psychological component and the opponents are worse. That is why a good player can win 5 big blinds for 100 hands in online poker. That's a very good value. However, a player will not always win exactly 5 big blinds for 100 hands. Because poker is also dependent on luck. That means every player has fluctuations in his winnings. This is called variance. And a low profit margin has a damaging effect on variance. The standard deviation in poker is 100 big blinds for 100 hands. This means that even a good player can lose 95 big blinds to 100 hands. If you put these values in the simulator, the results are terrifying. In around 35 percent of his playing time, this player is stuck in a downswing of 2000 big blinds! With a session of 10,000 hands there is a probability of 60% in the minus! It is therefore not enough to play 2 hours at 2 tables every day. You have to play a lot of hands to compensate for the variance. You have to play 20 tables for 8 hours a day (and against bad players) to beat the variance. it's impossible for people with a normal job. In addition, the win rate can also come under 5 big blinds. For example, when you have phases in which you play worse. Because of this, it is impossible for ordinary people to make a profit from online poker. Variance is a bitch.

Sure, if you win more than you lose ^^.

Haha... I'm actually in the process :p doing those steps, but I'll need way more than $10k before going to Vegas. Recently came back to poker, was really young when the boom happened and stopped around 2010-11, and got 1st in an ACR tri-hour freeroll, but blew that $9 after getting it to about $25($14 and a $11 sat ticket). Then got 2nd iirc in a c****o.o*g (tehe still new not sure about posting site names) freeroll and from the about $4 or 5 I got to $15, in same hour to $52, next day to $80 and by the end of that day I managed to cash another and make it $120.

On day 3 I got to $160 in the final game of the day, it was a TKO micro MTT, got 2nd(so same prize as first but way less bounty). Which was good, coz I was around $100 after all the buy ins for the day so managed to turn a profit. Now day 4 I started late (I'm EU time) and decided to just play 1 table only and since I started later I could use the cash I would've already entered in to 1 and really focus on it.

So play $16.50 Buy in wed HS on ACR and got to almost 80K (just over x3 starting stack) then lost in 2 really sad hands and tried to come back from 5k chips but busted about 3 hours in lol. first hand set, he shoved on flop i had set 6 he had JJ and turned a J... other I called min raise from late with A7 on button or sb forgot and flop top 2 pair iirc, he had AJ, riverd paired Q on boards and I was too invested to fold his river bet :(...

recovering from tilt atm. But still on +$140 which is good from 0 and only back playing poker for 2 weeks after 10 years, things changed! :D. Ill maybe make a thread soon if it goes well though. :jd4::joyman:

I think that a very small fraction of a percentage of all players succeed. But everyone dreams about it.

I am mostly playing for fun knowing that winning a big tournement will probably never happen. If you really want to make money if have to spent your whole day studying and playing, I only play in my spare time.

Very few people have become rich through poker. We see this in the media, the glamor. What they hide are ruined lives, discarded lives because of gambling addiction.

Sure you can, and some lucky ones do, But I wouldn't hold my breath, there are plenty of stories of successful Poker players (professional) who make a decent living from the game, but for each and every one of them that does, there are thousands of others that don't.
People have become rich over night by playing the Lottery or Football pools or even gambling on the stock market, but again there are thousands that don't.
The one thing you can be sure of is that for every winner, there are thousands of losers and you do not need to look far to see this, just open any Lobby of any MTT game and see how many people enter the tournament and how many finish in the money, It is as simple as that!

When the fun Stops, STOP!

What do you think?

Good day!
I think that very few people become very rich people thanks to poker - this is an innate talent, and luck, and incredible work.
But enough people can make good money with poker.
The main thing is discipline and work on the game. Even if you are completely unlucky :D:D:D

Yes you can if you follow good brm and grind up-up-up... but that sounds easier than it looks,

Or you need to win a big tournament to become instantly rich... also easier said then done..

So yes you can become rich but its really hard the become rich from poker alone,

I would just keep poker as a extra thing to win money or as a hobby :)
BRM is not difficult to conduct, but I believe that it is necessary if you vlazhivayut at least $ 200. Lead BRM if you have made a smaller amount it is a torment for you and this game will not be a joy.

getting rich in poker is like getting rich in wrestling. Yes, you can have a certain edge over your opponents, but you just encause to the winning side of poker bt you are not in total control of what will happend next.
Yes, i hate variance
