Did you once punt your bankroll/big win?

I've once punted my bankroll in my first years of playing poker just because I didn't have a good management or control sometime. My poker play and strategies were good but still acted like a beginner since it was first having a big bankroll than I usually have, and always tended to increase my balance (it looked easy at first since I winning 1/4 of my bankroll by fast/risky gambling in one day). The thing is that the balance was a gift, it wasn't my money, and it was a big one. So as a first time I punted it all. I regret that a lot till now since I need time to reach that number again.
But for sure thing that this experience taught me a lot from my mistakes and for free.
And to answer your question, I would 100% start again which I've already started, because I know I'm much confident now on what to do with my bankroll.

I've been playing poker for 4 years and I've lost my bankroll twice in that time. But overall, I spent no more than $ 100 on poker during that time. Each time I actually built a bankroll from scratch by playing in freerolls. Freerolls are the best way for a beginner to improve their skills and increase their bankroll without any financial risk.

Like all newbies, I wasted my bankroll at the beginning, at the moment, I'm a few dollars away from having a positive balance, maybe I already have it, I don't know, but like the colleague in the previous comment, I'm sure I didn't put more 100 bucks a game and I'm nowhere near beating that goal.

I think when I had a few bucks early playing full tilt but that was because I saw really, really bad players and thought I should be able to handle them easily then an evil mustache twirling villain named "Variance" came in and destroyed my little bankroll of a few bucks, lol.

That was my fault because although the games were soft, I still didn't have enough in the account to deal with losing a few bucks even at the lowest levels, lol.

But when I started playing live seriously, I never went broke. Even when I played here and there live, I didn't go broke. I just didn't like the idea of losing hundreds upon hundred of dollars that were right in front of me.

To me, losing your entire bankroll is when you overestimate your skill level/underestimate who you're playing or you're playing for a thrill or recreation and don't care or you're just taking too much risk on ie poor bankroll management.

There are lots of reasons but the I'd guess 90-95% of the time when that happens is is because of something that individual did and not lady luck.

Adherence to the bankroll management system is the basis for successful player development. The lack of a bankroll management system is a losses and a disappointments. Be patient and start all over again, start with freerolls.

Luckily I never wasted my bankroll. I started online with a small amount of money and I lost a part of it in the beginning but never completely. But since then I increased it more or less constantly.

After winning the $300 pot freerolls here I managed to win a $2.20 buy-in tournament and first place went up to $160 in bankroll. I lost everything in 3 days.

I lost a couple of times my bankroll, specially in the first few years after I started to play poker. For me it was difficult at the time to follow bankroll management. After years of play, I learn to deal with my bankroll a lot better and I don't even remember the last time I did not follow my bankroll management.

I have punted my poker bankroll by overbetting slots or other casino table games on three different sites.

I am a micro limit player, so my bankroll is usually little.
Many years ago, I won the 1k on full tilt poker, and I punted it all in big buy ins !
That was unforgettable !
Now I don't have this kind of problem anymore !

Yes, i have lost it a few times. I once remember losing an 8-month bankroll build in 2 days, around $800. I just stopped playing for a while after that. If I get a good win from a tourney, then I normally cash it out & treat myself. Although currently, i'm a bit tilty, iv'e lost about 25% of my bankroll in the past few days playing stupid poker. Taking a break from cash games for a while.

I did of course, I blame the slots lol. Thing is if you felt sorry afterwards or not. I didnt because I know what gambling/slots meant from the start so I knew theres more chance of losing it than making a huge win. Even if you double the BR at slots say, not many would even stop there and carry on until they make it vanish

But it took some hits after moving up to soon on mtts.

Learned in the years to maintain a strickter brm. Fron 100 buyins to 300 nowadays

I play mostly freerolls, in case of winning, I leave it for a walk or put it off for something, and I play for what is left.
