which is your greater motivation to play poker?

I play because I love the competition. I used to play a lot of online chess back in high school. I loved watching my rating go up and moving up against stronger opponents.

Poker is similar to chess for me. It's a game of strategy and you can watch your bankroll go up and move up in stakes (stronger opponents) as you improve. It's the competition, the challenge and the constant drive for improvement that keeps me playing.

Most of the people do it for money! If they say they do it for fun.. It might be also right, but the biggest motivation is of course the money and winning.
