How to build bankroll

You need to keep your personal finances and poker bankroll completely separate. Money should only flow in one direction in this situation. You don't want to ever have to resort to your savings to continue playing poker; that's a complete failure of bankroll management. This is another reason why a professional player needs to be highly "overextended" to the games they play, compared to a recreational player who doesn't rely on income and can focus on growing their bankroll and moving up to higher limits.
