This week has played several tournaments. In some has got to a prize, but generally not. For example last tournament today. To me AA have come, has naturally made reiz, one of rivals all in, has flown down a little more me, I am a stake. He has variegated Q7, on flop Q24, a turn 7, the river 5. Generally I have taken off. And it is so very frequent. It was once again convinced that all in on always fold.

And this, again again again, is exactly the reason why when you're trying to build from nothing you need to be militant about bankroll management, and realise that even then you'll need to run good for a little bit to succeed. If you don't, just start over.

As it seems to me, there are 2 options for me. To continue to play in the micro bayin, but very accurately and to gradually increase the bankroll. After all if I play over accurately, then I reach prizes.
Both the second option the longest and the most difficult to play freeroll and to gather in them $100, and then to pass into tournaments with a big bayin.
Good article. I'll keep that in mind. But I can't understand some of the poker rooms that create freerolls to play them, it is necessary to make money. For example: Party poker. There is to play in freerolls, you have to make money. Freerolls are basically a free game. What do You think?

Yeah i like the small stakes SNGs. But it all starts with placing some of those crazy freerolls first if your talking building from scratch. Luckily enough ive done that myself, small bankroll still building.... but proud to say never deposited in poker only sportsbook.
Really tho any player who can place in rolls often enough to say so is going to be a decent enough player. After all those bingo players and donkey calls any money made is well earned. 😛.

Regardless that would be my guess as they may not make the amount needed to pay the roll, at least half goes back to them in form of rebuy and addons. (Only IMO from the site i play and numbers i see) the remainder must come from cash table rakes and fees from money tourneys

It's the "try before you buy" philosophy. The sites aren't hoping you'll sign up to play in freerolls, have a couple of small cashes and then run that up into a workable bankroll (though if you do, you're still generating action and rake on their tables, so whatever).
What they are hoping you'll do is sign up to play in freerolls, get hooked on the game but decide it's too hard to win any worthwhile amount of money in them, and then deposit your own money which they'll slowly take from you in the form of rake.
New here, this is my first thread/comment and I love this topic because it's right where I'm at. I can tell I'll enjoy/get a lot out of this forum!
So here's my story: a new casino just opened up about 10 minutes down the road. I decided to go check it out last week and splurged $50 at a 2-4 Limit table. This was my first time ever playing in a casino, and I picked that table because it was the cheapest buyin. Leaving that night with $300+ brought back ALL the emotion of back in the day when I used to play basement games with friends and dream about playing in the wsop. It's been a long time 🙂
So I decided to take that $300 and create a dedicated bankroll, and started a spreadsheet to track profit & loss, tables and hours played, notes, etc. This was an important first step in the decision, because I will not mix "poker money" with "personal money" (and vice versa) if I want to give it a real shot.
But here's the thing-- I got lucky that first night. I've played everyday since, mixing L2-4 and NL1-3 tables. There's benefits and advantages to both. If you have a smaller buyin, limit is safer. Especially when the aggressive players come in and just try to steamroll you out of every pot. You get one or two bad beats, start feeling tilted, and everything is gone. It's harder to make responsible and disciplined decisions when you're under that kind of pressure.
So anyways, back to my point. Building up a baby bankroll on it's own-- especially doing so in a self-sustainable way so you're not pouring personal money into gambling... it's tricky. My advice would be to track everything and if you're not AT LEAST breaking even, then step away for a bit.
The less you have to play with, the more pressure you feel. It's in my notes from this week. I like to go in the morning and play with the old school players, where it's more about the cards and less about the power play. Mostly checks & calls, and all bets are "reasonable". Until around 2/3PM, when all the online poker players come in and just overbet every round. For me, they can be a buzzkill but also great when they misread you 🙂
The challenge I'm having is building up a bankroll to give me more confidence and relieve the pressure of playing against those aggressive players. Not that I'm playing scared, but I'm not willing to go all in unless I KNOW I have a rock solid winning hand. And after a few bad beats, my bankroll has spiked up to $1k, down to $200, and right now it's at $600. I usually buy into the NL1-3 at $200, so I have a long way to go before I feel really comfortable with it.
In any case, the advice I'd give today might change tomorrow. I've made mistakes, I've learned, I've moved on, and I'm enjoying the journey. Isn't that the most important part?

Which freerolls do you guys play to build up a bankroll (outside from the obvious cc freerolls ofcourse 😉 )? Currently I'm playing in the pokerschool skill league, CC and sometimes with schoolpasses on PS. Any recommendations for other freerolls?
I am going to start keeping track of all my freeroll and tourneys. I think that by reviewing them and seeing what I am actually doing will be encouraging and fun. thank you for all of the tips and strategies on how to aid in doing this..

Like you I started my bankroll by starting out winning here and there on free rolls. I ended up getting up to $29 of free money before I went to cash games and losing it all on bad beats cuz I was playing the 1/2 cent tables. moving up to the 5/10 cent and just getting a$$ handed cuz everyone chases.
