Every player seems to have their own style. Some prefer to wait for strong hands and pick their spots, while others put constant pressure on their opponents.

Which style do you prefer, and do you think your playing style has changed as you've gained more experience?

I'd also be interested to know if your style changes between cash games and tournaments.
I play tournaments only and prefer playing tight rather than playing aggressive with an element of extra risk always lurking behind the corner!

It depends on many factors; if I need chips, I have to be more aggressive, or else the blinds will eat me up. Also, if I have a large stack and the tournament is about to burst the bubble, I need to be quite aggressive, whereas at the start of the tournament, I play more passively.

I prefer playing tight and aggressive. I don't like playing too many weak hands, but when I have a good hand or a good opportunity, I like to play aggressively. I'm still learning when to increase the aggression without taking unnecessary risks.

I recommend staying tight and adding aggression to your tightness. ; )

Recent trends in poker encourage more aggressive play. However, one shouldn't confuse intelligent aggression with unmotivated looseness.Loose, overly relaxed play is a direct path to poker hell and absolute ruin.

Once again, tight and aggressive are not opposite styles. They are each only half of a style.

Loose and passive.
Tight and passive.
Loose and aggressive.
Tight and aggressive.

These are the four extremes of play style. We need to understand them before we can figure out someone's style or even our own.

It depends a lot on the modality, but speaking of tournaments I like to be more conservative, but I still like to do crazy things when I'm too lazy to think
