How do you read a player when you only have basic HUD stats?

With a few hands, I would use the HUD as a guide, not as an absolute truth. VPIP and PFR are the most useful in the beginning; 3-bet requires a larger sample.

I would also pay close attention to how they play at the table: stakes, sizes and reactions. In short: HUD to get an idea and actions to confirm it.

It´s not always the player read through stats. Basic Stats Like GG-Poker HUD, give player preflop tendencies, that´s it.
The next you need, is board playout logic (or funnel principle) and a good grasp of your handstrength on any given board.

For Example AcAd may be a weak holding on an 7h8h9s flop, depending on the player(s) you have in that hand.

Stats are only reliable if you have a large enough sample size.
