A good question to ask yourself preflop is: if I hit top pair at the flop and my opponent bets, do I feel confident with my hand? If the answer is no, you should fold.

how to fold top pair live and online.

1. click fold button using mouse or hotkeys if assigned

live.
1. throw the cards in the middle when you have top pair.

this is a real simplistic way of doing it but its that easy and its real. But this isnt the true question.

We need to practice how operate in these spots. Ask ourselves where we are going to make money.

Some typical questions you want to ask is.
1. What is my opponents range? the tighter the range the easier to fold to 3bets on the flop.

2. Board textures and this goes with the top and also how wide players are.
little side questions.
a. Does my opponent play draws aggressive?
b. Does my opponent over value and get sticky with 2nd pair or 2nd best hands.

Also different stake levels can mean different strategies with players as well.

micros people will raise when strong
higher stakes a raise could mean their weaker

that is just an example

The best way is to practice in spots and watch player types tendencies and go from there.

1. What opponent am i playing against?
2. board texture?
3. What do i beat
4. Do i have backdoor flushes or straights which can help me on future streets..

anyways theres some info... good luck

Its hard to fold QQ or KK , but sometimes I even fold JJ or QQ ;) is depends how it was played pre-flop :) if two guys are already on all in pre-flop , and you have a pair of JJ xD I think is easy fold on this situation.
Try to feel what they have , and try to think if they have a better hand than yours , as i said depends how it was played by your opponents.

In this hand I had KK, is a fast game, each distribution of new opponents!

The game was very dynamic, all new players! A decision has been little information!

Hello,
I want to say on this situation as already someone told you will be very hard to fold such of hand as QQ , and I think this ain't a mistake you played very well just think this is a kuler.
How to fold such of hand?
Since if you will feel this situation , and you will fold QQ a lot of strong players will think this is a mistake.
Anyway lets think one opponent is making 3 BB , and another opponent is making 4BB , and another opponent is going all in , and now is your decission , and your hand is QQ ;) I think in such of situation you can fold your premium hand.
Thanks.

Strong no limit cash game players can muck these hands all day . Weak small stakes players and tournament addicts , like most of us , get trapped again and again .

Help advice how to learn to just throw in the trash QQ, Look, I already wrote a post about the loss of the top pair! https://www.cardschat.com/forum/poker-goals-challenges-wins-46/qq-return-duty-307682/

well,in this particular hand you were just unlucky. folding pocket queens on this board without any overcard and no double jacks or tens its tough. however you should also think that villain might hit a set or have a bigger pair so its very important to put villain on a range and then based on how loose or tight he plays you can either shove allin, call or fold the hand.
folding a top pair with a good or the best kicker is never easy however it depends on how well you can read villains hand and how many chips are you willing to risk in that spot.

Well what could i say mate , sometimes the game just sets you up and you cant do nothing.
You should concetrate more on your opponent, and still isnt enought you must have a 6th feeling for the cituation :D

Yes, I sometimes make my moves just by listening to your 6 senses! And quite often it brings victory!

Usually happens that I prefer to go up gradually and go with everything when I have a ladder or a trio at least

But when each new hand, new opponents, it is necessary to make quick decisions!

probably hard to learn, you need to stop and consider the top pair of some sort of super cards, but with them, win more often, but I believe that the QQ on reuris either get or make a call ...
There are just rather not have to learn, it is necessary to make a rule... and all

Hmm it depends how deep the stacks were in this case.
Despite no flush or straight opportunities, I would be worried with just a pair that they might have a set of jacks or tens (depending how they behaved preflop) and would be reluctant to commit unless short stacked.

I mean what are they shoving that we can beat? AJ is the only likely hand that comes to mind, but I don't feel that is a shove hand, more a value bet hand.

Of course, I would be VERY tempted to call the shove just to see what they were playing at...

Even though you have one of the top pairs you might wanna consider folding them if the cards are not in your favor. I always tell myself "I'm I commited enough to go all in with these cards?".

The format of the game does not give much thought at the time!

I guess everyone has their stories about Queens..I guess this boils down to your opponents style, against tight players I am cautious in playing QQ including JJ and 1010..against looser players I play them like kings or aces..it boils down on how well you know your opponents.
