If you could give just one piece of advice to a new poker player, what would it be? Mine would be: don't chase every draw. Curious to hear everyone else's tip.

To shove pre flop, and to play out of position IMO :)

Playing Ax like it's the nuts, they see an A and fall in 💕, that and not understanding position and open way too many hands, or the opposite they don't play enough and blind out because they're waiting for the KK+ AK

New players try to play almost every hand. They also don't understand what variance is, so after a few bad beats they start complaining in the chats that the poker rooms are rigged, full of bots, and just one big scam.

One mistake? There are tons.
You don't have to play every hand; you need to be patient, learn the game, improve your skills, and start by playing only freerolls—don't deposit money on any site (right away). And these are just the ones that came to mind in half a minute; I'm sure there are plenty more.

Learn the traditional TAG (tight and aggressive) playing style. Instead of limping and calling a lot preflop, either fold or enter the pot with a raise most of the time, and then continue that aggression postflop. Instead of always checking and calling with draws, learn to bet or raise them, when the situation is good for it.

If you dont open limp it will eliminate most of the common mistakes like sitter limping, high blind limping, limp folding to short stacks, etc.

It will also make you play more in position which will make life much easier.

Don't hero call everything without any sense, you will loose most part of times. If you don't know when to fold and when you may call sometimes, you will be cooked...
