For any women in, or nearby, southern New England this should be a lot of fun. I played my first tournament there nearly eight years ago, and if there was ever a woman's tournament before I didn't notice it.

It is going to probably go for 10-12 hours so if I do well I definitely hope that I have the stamina to see it through.

40 dollar entry fee on $195 buyin event sounds pretty steep . Rebuys and addon likely get hit just as hard ! (Everyone is taking the dealer addon too ) That's tough to overcome but good luck .

Definitely going to try my best. I get out of work at 8pm Friday night so I'll do my best to get right to bed and not dawdle like I usually do.

Foxwoods is less than an hour away so if I leave around 8am I'll have plenty of time to get there, register, find my seat, and relax a bit.

Going to bring some walnuts and other snacks, and will drink more water than I usually do. Since I will be working the next day I won't be drinking so that will help.

I've played four women's tournaments up in New Hampshire and that situation has never occurred and hopefully my streak will continue.

As for laws that would be the Civil Rights Act of 1968 that it would come up against. A public accommodation like a casino cannot discriminate against someone due to their sex, so men cannot be excluded if they really want to push it. Why they would want to enter one I have no idea. It would also mean, in my opinion, that the higher entry fees for men in some other women's tournaments would also be illegal.

Thank you, and I'd forgotten about the high hand. I won that one time with, if my memory is correct, AAAA. That was back when I was a regular at the Sunday morning $60 tourney which unfortunately ended when Covid showed up.

So...I'm due!

Is it something near home or are you travelling? I hope the good luck that comes with being away from shooting for awhile also applies to poker. ❤️

It is a 3 hour drive - close enough by most people's standards but I don't like to drive lol. It is a beautiful scenic drive though so that is nice.
