I played home games for a while, but I've never set foot in a casino. I'm not worried about strategy or what to do once seated, I'm wondering how to get there. Where do I get chips, at the table or at a cage? Where do I get a seat? How do they call me if I'm on the waiting list? How do I change seat seats if I wanna move? Stuff like that.

The main rule for how to behave within the walls of a casino is to be as polite as possible. Each casino has its own personality, and it's a lot of fun to experience. If you'd like to change seats, you can request one or press the seat change button to gain priority when someone else moves. If you're unhappy with your current table, you can approach the entrance and request a change. You can buy chips from the cashier or give cash to the dealer and he will call a chip delivery man for you.If you have vision problems, try to sit in the middle opposite the dealer.

That was excellent advice. :)

My experience is that they call your name on a loud speaker. From what I've read if you join the wait list via Poker Atlas's app you'll receive a text notification.

Don’t forget to tip the dealer when you win a nice pot. 🙂

When you enter the casino you usually need to become a member, once all this is sorted you can then just walk in, show your members card and go find the card room manager who will sort your buy in, make sure you have cash or you will just get sent to the cash desk.

Being courteous goes a long way and in the casino I frequent 95% of people would not even dream of tipping, they are tighter than a camels backside in a sandstorm.

I always tip the staff and I find I receive the same back from them x10. A good example of this is when my brother came to stay and I found out at the end of the night that when the cardroom manager noticed the surname was the same as me he approached my brother and gave him free food and drinks for the entire night which I was so grateful for.

Just be nice and they'll be nicer basically. The same applies for the opposite.
