I am going to play for my first time a live tournment poker and i dont want to be so nervous and dont want to ruin it, so some advices or how i need to play more saffer more aggresive

Great experience — enjoy it!

Start tight and observe — live players are often loose, so pick good spots.
Pay attention to table dynamics and player tendencies early on.
Don’t be afraid to take your time — no rush like online.
Manage your chips clearly and stay calm, especially in big pots.

Most importantly, focus on good decisions and enjoy the live feel.

To be honest, I haven’t played live tournaments either, but I’d say the most important thing is not to change your way of playing just because you’re live. Play the way you know how to play, don’t do things you’re not used to. Stick to what you know and trust it.

The second thing, which I think isn’t so easy to notice, is keeping track of your number of blinds, since it’s harder to calculate without it being shown automatically like when we play online. Similarly, keeping track of pot sizes is also tougher, it’s not as easy to calculate on the spot when you’re focused on so many things.

Just play your game, and pay close attention to your stack and your opponents’ stacks so you can execute your strategies better. Good luck!

When you’re going into your first live poker tournament, the most important thing is not to try to play perfectly. It’s much better to stick to a simple, clear style that combines caution and aggression.
At the beginning, it’s a good idea to tighten up and play more selectively. You don’t need to enter every hand — instead, choose strong starting hands and take your time observing the table. Live poker is quite different from online: players tend to be more straightforward, bluff less often, and often give away information through their behavior. So the early stages are as much about gathering information as they are about playing.
At the same time, caution shouldn’t turn into passivity. If you do enter a hand with a strong holding, play it confidently. Raise, bet with purpose, and take control of the hand. In poker, aggression isn’t about reckless pressure — it’s about taking initiative. Either you apply pressure, or it’s applied to you.
It’s also important not to overcomplicate things. In your first tournament, there’s no need for fancy bluffs or trying to outplay everyone. A simple rule works well: if you have a strong hand, play it actively; if not, let it go. This will help you avoid unnecessary losses.
Another key factor is your stack. Early in the tournament, there’s no reason to risk everything in marginal spots. It’s better to preserve your chips and wait for better opportunities. Later on, especially when your stack gets shorter or you approach the money, you can increase your aggression — steal blinds more often and put pressure on tighter players.
And of course, nerves. They will be there, and that’s completely normal. The key is not to make decisions based on эмоции. Take your time, think things through, and don’t rush. Even something as simple as controlled breathing can help you stay focused.
In the end, it’s all about balance: play fewer hands, but play them stronger; enter pots thoughtfully, but once you’re in, act with confidence. This approach gives you both safety and the ability to build your stack without unnecessary risk.

Don’t tell people it’s your first time! My first advice. Have fun, learn and don’t get discouraged

Make sure to hide your physical cards! A couple of times that I played live I was showing my cards accidentally at the table. Once the dealer said it to me and another time a competitor. It also makes one look like a newbie! Quite daunting to play live initially. My advice is to relax and enjoy the occasion.

I recall my first live game and it was nerve wracking. I didnt want to be the noob but had been with a friend before and just observed from a distance.
I definitely reccomend enjoying the experience by getting involved, stick to solid principles, position raising is massive in live games but i feel so is "live tells"...
Have some food and a drink, soak it up.
Tight aggressive has been mentioned and yes - that can work but so can having a mix it up strategy - pace yourself, fold can be your friend and your enemy so back yourself.

Be quiet on begin and wait for your time...until very agressive players gone.

See Anbu's post below...he's right...remember, your opponents get random cards just like you...not always pocket aces...take it slow and easy...watch and take time to think before you act.

OP has probably been to their tournament, but my advice to people generally in this situation is to be prepared to mess up the procedures/etiquette (from silly things like accidently revealing a hole card, to stacking your chips in a misleading way and so on) , and not be fazed if it happens but explain to people that you are new ; most people will understand.

My biggest advice is to take your time and don't feel pressured to act quickly just because everyone else seems experienced. Pay attention to the action, make sure you know whose turn it is, and announce your bets clearly to avoid misunderstandings. Keep your cards protected with a chip or card protector, and don't be afraid to ask the dealer if you're unsure about a rule or procedure. Most importantly, focus on making good decisions rather than worrying about the result. Your first live tournament is as much about getting comfortable with the environment as it is about trying to win.

For your first live tournament, don't worry about playing super aggressive. Your main goal should be to stay calm and avoid big mistakes. Watch the action carefully, protect your cards and chips, and take your time before making decisions. Play solid starting hands, value bet your strong hands, and don't feel pressured to play every pot. Live players often make mistakes, so patience is a big advantage. Most importantly, enjoy the experience. Everyone is nervous in their first live tournament, and you'll learn a lot just by playing.

RELAX, thats the best advice, try to play your game and enjoy the moment but do not be overwhelmed .

Try to hero call less cuz they are more likely to have it when they jam

For your first live tournament, don't try to prove anything to anyone. Just start a little tight and be in good position, and when you do decide to play, be confident and aggressive (in positive situations) rather than gambling with nothing. Don't rush your decisions since nobody is waiting for you to make one. Finally, don't dwell on lost pots, but move on to the next one. Most importantly, above all, have fun! You can't win every pot, so try to have good decisions rather than trying to win.

Try to act the same on every hand, be aware of how far you are putting your chips on the table, how your posture is etc.

"So nervous and dont want to ruin it" What is there to ruin? My 2cents would be to have fun and try your best, while being nervous is ok, I feel like you should take a mindset that you take this as an experience, so in future you could go again!
