I don’t have much money to spare on poker, is it possible to play micro cash games or tournaments with a bankroll of a few dollars/pounds say £/$5 or less? How would you go about this cash or tournament games? Start with lowest buy in 10p/cents and stay there until you’ve doubled your starting bankroll or start at £/$1 and keep going until your out or doubled bankroll?

Start with the cheapest possible tables or tournaments and play as if those 5 $/£ had to last you a long time, not as if you had to double them quickly.

In real money games: NL2 (0.01/0.02) with small entries.
In tournaments: entries from 0.10 to 0.25.
Avoid investing $1/£ all at once trying to “double or die”.
Level up only when you have enough capital to face losing streaks. Take advantage of free tournaments to increase your risk-free capital.

The idea is to survive and improve first; capital will grow later.

yes you can start with a 5$ bankroll in mo limit texas holden but it"s very high variance the safest approach is to play the adsolute lowest stakes especially micro tournaments or cash games, avoid risking too much in one game and focus on susvival and learning rather than fast growth.

Its best to first change the situation, which cause you to only be able to share a few bucks on poker. That will be a much more effective use of time than trying to turn $5 into $10, then $10 into $20 and so on and so forth. If you just want to have fun and make time pass, you can go to the play money tables. This is completely free.

Try to build a bankroll with freerolls, might take time but it's free.

Building a bankroll from micros does work, but it’s a project that requires discipline and patience, not a quick stroke of luck.

It all depends on your goals.
If your goal is to accumulate a bankroll, then it is better to spend time on freerolls, without risking your own funds. If your goal is to gain skills and experience in cash games, then it is likely that it makes sense to focus on micro-limits.

Have you tried playing freerolls? There are still some sites that have freerolls daily.

If you don't have much money to spare then don't use it, play freerolls to start a bankroll and then use a bankroll management of say no more than 2% of your bankroll for tournaments or sit and goes and 5% for cash games.
