I like tourneys, its a nice mix of short and deep play.

I feel like in cash you are always playing deep, unless someone buys in short(or gets short stacked).

Hello everyone, the truth is, I am of the opinion that everything depends on the availability of time, both are complex and one modality is easy and both have a lot of depth of learning, however, I feel that the mtt and their mother arrived at the time to start because they have the free tournament factor

Always MTT. Each modality has its strategy and I throw myself more out of my knowledge on MTT

I like tournaments the most, but they take up a lot of time.
You have to stay until the end, and sometimes it's hard to keep playing for so many hours. That's why I've been trying to dedicate myself more to cash games.
Cash games seem more flexible, although I still prefer tournaments.

Hello, does anyone know what is best in online poker? Tournaments or cash games?
It really depends on what you’re looking for.
Cash games are more stable — you can sit down, play solid poker, and your edge shows more consistently over time. Variance is lower, and you can quit whenever you want.
Tournaments are higher variance but offer bigger upside. You can run deep and make a big score from a small buy-in, but you’ll also have more swings and long stretches without cashing.
If your goal is steady income and learning fundamentals, cash games are usually “better.” If you enjoy bigger swings and chasing big payouts, tournaments are more exciting

In my opinion, I prefer MTTs. I find cash games a bit monotonous over time.

Tournaments feel more dynamic and exciting, especially with changing stack sizes, different stages (early, bubble, final table), and the pressure that comes with each decision. I also like the idea of turning a small buy-in into a big score — it keeps things more interesting for me.

That said, I understand why some players prefer cash for the consistency and lower variance, but for me, MTTs are definitely more fun to play.

Since this is the online poker my choice is tournaments aside from an occasional $0.02-$0.04 Omaha cash game. My tournament entries are also at the micro level. I honestly don't have all that much faith in the integrity of online poker.

Tournaments suit me better. Somehow, it doesn’t put as much pressure on my decisions when I see my stack getting smaller. But in cash games, you clearly feel that it’s real money, not just chips. Even though it’s basically the same thing, there’s still that psychological difference.

I prefer tournaments, but it depends on your playing style. I think cash games are worthwhile for very aggressive players.

I don't know if there's something better or not. I just play where I feel most comfortable most of the time are tournaments. But if I want to play real money games, I just do it. I don't make a living from poker, so I play what I want at the time

cash games gradually eat into your bankroll thru heavy rake ( at least at the brick + mortar casinos i sometimes frequent ). very hard to overcome . and sadly ,small buyin live tourneys almost always have a hefty fee as well . that leaves bigger money live MTTs or small stakes ones online.

I have always preferred tournaments. Perhaps the reason is that I started playing poker with freerolls and just got used to playing in a tournament format. Cash games are quite difficult for me, and I only play them when I am very limited in time.

I play tournaments and cash games too, I think I prefer cash games because I can end the session whenever I want, plus the losses tend to be smaller.

Cash is for the whole day. I can play for a couple of hours, leave whenever I want, and still earn a little money.Tournaments take a long time to complete, depending on how many people buy in, and it takes much longer to win back any money.

For those who understand cash I believe it is more profitable, but I think the safest one I think is a tournament

Personally for me i would say Tournaments. You can always find cash games but tournaments are far and few around my area anymore.
