online poker is fast, and every now and then a misclick happens, whether it’s a wrong bet size or folding by accident.

It can be really frustrating, especially in important spots.

How do you handle misclicks mentally? Do you just move on quickly or does it affect your play for a while?

You have to move on quickly, the more you think about it means less time is spent on thinking about your next hands.

Yes it happens and yes it pains if it is important - like a big call instead of intended fold or folding a good cards, because I switched table and misclicked this fold button accidentally. But I never think about it too long - I usually 6-table and I have next decissions to make. I play micros, so finally it is never a big money, not worth loosing focus.

Misclicks absolutely happen in online poker, even to very strong players, because you’re juggling software, timing, and sometimes multiple tables.
The key is not pretending you’re immune to it but having a plan for when it happens.
If I misclick, I treat it like any other unexpected spot: take a breath, accept the new reality, and play the hand as profitably as possible from that point on. Most misclicks aren’t catastrophic unless you tilt yourself afterward.
The real skill is staying calm, keeping your decision‑making clean, and remembering that every online player deals with this sooner or later.

Several times, it happened to me when I was in a hurry because I was at several tables at the same time, I folded AA at a moment where if 2 were eliminated I would make the final table.

Yes misclicked more times than I can remember😭
The worst is a fold I didn't want, no way back from that, but misclick calling can work out sometimes - you can hit a miracle or find a way to bluff on a nice run out.

Just move on after, misclicking can be -EV but tilting after is definitely major -EV!!

....yeah it happens to everyone, usually I just blame the cat, he likes to lay on the kb and watch the cards,

sometimes he tries to catch them or he gets bored and walks away across the kb causing all kinds of havoc....

but yeah it happens, try and slow down, don't use presets and don't click so fast... or get a cat and blame him👍

To anybody who's ever played online if they've never misclicked over the years they've honestly never played online poker or a lying. I can't say the exact word but S happens and we know it does. The best thing you could do is just let it go and be a little more careful if possible next time. And just to make anybody who's reading this laugh I actually misclicked tonight ohh well

Anyone who hasn't had a misclick hasn't played enough. Anyone who has had more than that has probably benefited from it already.

If it happens several times on mobile because it suddenly changes to another table, I remember a tournament where I was on the bubble, if I remember correctly I had 9j and a player with almost the same stack went all-in with qq, fortunately I hit a straight and made the money that time

Misclicks hurt but what can you do lol. I just treat it like a bad beat and move on. If you keep thinking about it, you’ll probably spew the next hand too.

I've misclicked a few times and seen both sides of the coin.
Sometimes I was lucky and it worked out, but other times I had to give up a bad hand after clicking wrong. It's not a good feeling, but it happens.
I've never had major problems because of that, but it's part of the game and you just move on.

The good ol' minraise cold 3 bet.

The only reasonable way forward is to jam the flop regardless of the board. If you get called, just close the table. No one can see your hand if the table gets closed.

Yes, definitely. I’ve already let AA and KK slip because of this mistake. It happens, there’s nothing you can do, so I just forget it and focus on the next hand.

It all depends on the outcome 🙂 If we misclick and it works out well, we feel relief for getting lucky. But if it goes the other way, it’s just frustration and anger. It also depends on the type of misclick, but in general, a misclick helps you become more attentive and avoid making mistakes due to fatigue or lack of focus.

It's really frustrating and annoying to be honest, but I just need to move on, understand that it's part of the process

[ response for call/raise misclick ]

Unfortunately this while happen from time to time playing online poker. I generally use more timebank in these situations. Play the cards and the spot as normal rather than snap folding with the misclick in mind.
Just play poker only you know you misclicked. Give up the absolute minimum chips if your hand equity is low.

Yes I have misclicked. Once I even misclick/folded on a Royal Flush when villain had shoved all-in on river. I tried to take a screenshot with Screenhunter5.0 which I thought I already had open... but it wasn't open and when I opened it my computer LAGGED with the window from Screenhunter blocking my table. Once it started again (a few seconds later), I had timed out/folded the hand.

What do I do about it? I try not to do it.:rolleyes:

It happens. What to do about it? Forget it and move on. It definitely helps if you keep the cursor away from the buttons. That way, you have to move it to hit the right button instead of letting it sit on the "Fold" button. It also helps to pay attention. Once I was drawing at a flush and the board paired on the river and the opponent went all-in. I knew this player and knew he'd never do that without a Full. I damn near folded but took a second look. That T-h that fell on the river gave me a Royal. Lesson? Don't make snap decisions. You have the time bank, so use it.

I've accidentally clicked the wrong thing and lost hands because I gave up, and I've also mistakenly paid for hands that should have been paid. But this happened because I was on several different screens and ended up confusing the hands.
