When playing online, I’ve seen some players take detailed notes on opponents, while others just rely on general memory and tendencies.

I try to take notes, but I don’t always stay consistent with it.

Do you actively use notes, and do you think they give a big advantage over time?

I have a notebook with some notes I make on players when I play live and online. Sometimes it helps but it depends on how predictable the opponent is.

I usually play small MTTs, I don't make notes because it's usually just the same players (small circle) playing the games, now I've memorized that player A like to bluff in this spots etc

Hi, I would say, yes, having notes on specific opponents will give you a big advantage, especially when your opponents do not suspect that you or others might have notes of them.
Same thing goes into the backeards direction, people might have notes on you, which is why it is advised to have notes on yourself, and trying to balance your stats out to stay unpredictable and or unreadable.
I personally use GGPokers feature to mark random players in different colours, but there is also an option to save notes on the players.
888Poker has basically same feature with options to matk players as sharks, lions, fish donkeys, which is quiet funny.

I usually take notes on the players; it helps a lot, and remembering them all is impossible, so the notes are very helpful.

I use both, since I play on smaller sites where the same players tend to show up regularly.

Notes are definitely an advantage. Personally, notes have made me a lot of money because they helped me make the right decisions at the right moments in the game.

I remember everything that was said earlier in a single gaming session. This allows me to keep track of details, names, and decisions made without relying on memory.

Yes, notes help more than memory.
Even simple notes give you a long-term edge.

I use notes and color coding.

I used to use NoteCaddy which automatically took notes on players.

I don't use any of that stuff, nor do I remember it... many times I try to get to know them at tables, but when I meet them again I have to learn their game all over again 😂
