From Freeroll to Bankroll

Just take your pick. But my opinion is normal ring game is standard. For both ring game and tourney, $5 is too little seed money. You need more reserved fund, I think.

How do I find out more about that I would like to know more about how you do that

Playing freerolls I often lost until I gradually learned something new. So, using different strategies through trial and error, I was able to gain a bankroll of $ 10. This is a small amount, but this small result has already become my personal achievement at the initial stage, which allowed me to develop further in the game. While my abilities are still insufficient, there is no limit to perfection, but I believe that everything will work out. It will work for you.

I think it is better to continue playing freerolls until you get at least $ 10 and then continue to play the tournaments with 0.25 cents in entry. Betting everything on a single tournament is very risky.

I started from nothing and worked my way up to above $200. The key is to find poker communities and enter high value freerolls. From there just play exploitative poker. Play only good hands unless you have a solid read.

possible, if you don like gamble. a couple of weeks ago win 7 place with 32buck in 5k ppl freeroll. going to casino won around 700 buck, cashout ) loose half of all in races in few days, half spent on myself ))) that my way freerollin ) I love freerolls, but most of them are cheap. If I won less than 50 bucks I'll try to gamble anyway, raise limits, play casino or do some shorty's deadly tricks at hi stakes ) So if money that you win makes sense for you, probably u can create a bankroll from freerolls.

Losses would be inevitable using this method, but 2 perfect tournaments would put you at a decent bankroll. I know that is highly improbable, but I think it is worth trying since it isn't really costing me any money, just my time.

Yes and i have met many ppl who have along the way. Depends on the poker room you in. some have more freerolls than others. But Remember all the poker rooms and tables are made in a way to make it harder the higher you move up in buy ins. Ring games make more money quicker. Tournys are harder work but bigger pay off for little risk.

I also start and play satellites or tournaments with a buy-in 0.55 if there is news, I will inform you)

Freeroll to bankroll

Ive built a bankroll from freerolls so many times. And lost it all in bad beats when I played money games. It happenes to me to day.

I think it's best to play by bankroll. When you play 1 tournament at all costs and lose it, the feeling is not pleasant. I myself managed to get up from freerolls several times, the main desire. Once I raised $ 5 from the freeroll, I won 1K bucks from them. A couple of final tables in MTT have made me so successful.

you must respect your bankroll, otherwise sooner and later you will lose everything.

If you play at pokerstars, I will suggest to try bounty builders ,couple 2.20$ Buy-ins, better than playing cash games.,because KO progressive ,you can recoup your buy in with few knock outs and have a chance to make a score

I play freerolls. I won $ 400 in 2 months. the main thing to understand is that playing freerolls is different from playing for real money. Advice - play satellites and cheap MTTs.

I started a long time ago on Pokerstars and built up a small bank-roll playing Free-rolls and Micro stake games with 45 players and 90 players, made around $40 over a time but felt more confident in playing live so dropped Stars to play live games.
I did pretty good winning 2 league trophies and even qualifying for the National Finals in Coventry, so carried on playing live tourneys and cash games, and never lost too much certainly won more than I lost.
For practice I went onto PKR.com which eventually went bust and I lost my Bankroll which was around $160 all from starting with Free-rolls as I have never made a deposit on any site.
Thanks to Pokerstars they bought the player Database and refunded all money I had made on PKR, and added it to my Pokerstars account, so I played a little on PS. and made a bit more but still preferred the atmosphere and action I got in Live games.
When this Corona Virus started It killed all live games for me and finding I missed Poker so much I started to play for fun money on Facebook, when one day I thought to myself " what in the blazes are you doing on F.B. playing for fun when I should be trying to build my bankroll up" So I returned to P.Stars and in the last 8 months have increased my Bank-roll by over 65% I still only play for fun but at least I win money doing it.
I may never become a professional poker player, and at my age I wouldn't want to be but I enjoy what I am doing and making a little money on the side.

Yes I have. Back in the day, about 10-11 yrs ago, I went on the Merge Network's "freeroll tour". You could sign up to one of their skins/sites, make a small deposit, then you were eligible to play in the 2 weeks (14 days) of $500 freerolls for new members. There were usually less than 200 registered players each time, sometimes under a 100. First place was anywhere from $175-$100, depending on number of entrants. Minimum payout was $5-$3.50 so even if you placed last, or so, each time you could still cash out w/$45 or so. Also, you could, in theory, win around $2K in those 2 weeks by winning 1st each time. After the 2 wks I'd cash out to an e-wallet and go to the next skin and then do it again. Aah, the good ol' days.
Nowadays you have sites that give up little cash and sat-tickets in freerolls. If I made just $5 from freerolls today I'd probably play in micro ring-games and more freerolls. GL.

I'm starting to do it now... but without any "goals" other than just having fun, so a couple of bucks hit my BR either way sometimes.

I started from scratch, went into a Freeroll promoted by Akkari's Home Game on PS. Got an average position with a few dollars for reward (over 2.5k players for a USD 1k freeroll) and started using the 2-5% buy-in BR control from the SnGs of $0.25 buy-in that eventually went into the $0.50 buy-in, and now I'm at the $1.00 buy-in... and slowly increasing into bigger buy-ins...

(being totally honest, I just added a $10 last week to qualify for the $200 and $300 Brazilian CardsChat freerolls only)

Yes, I like this approach and try to to this all the time. The idea of playing your my own money seems not good for me. I like to start from scratch, make at least $5, then I can sit on one NL2 table, for example, and try to double up or lose it all (in this case I don't care much cause this money was not even mine), or I can play about 10 tourneys of $0.5 buy-in. After winning something, let's say $25, I withdraw 20 and left my $5 for futher playing and then start it again. I usually don't try to play higher limits or tourneys. So I could say I'm kind of a poker 'hustler'.

You are right by saying that if you play only one risky tourney with your $5 you could win more. By this sword has two different ends. I would better play 10x0.5 tourneys than one $5. This way, you can reduce variance a little bit. There is another good thing--you will get more experience and number of hands so you'll be able to analize your game then with your poker tracker, find your mistakes so it would be better. But it's your choice for sure.

Building a backroll is a great way to get some poker money
But in my opinion its the hard way to build a bankroll being your going to have to play against many donkeys and diff poker strategies that will make you shiver lol
and playing freerolls you do learn alot of bad habits being you dident pay to play you are easyer to donk off your chips
