ACR rewarding the bigger stacks?

I know this is going to sound like complaining, but it seems to happen a lot more than it should. I’m not saying any of the plays against me are poor plays or anything like that. For as long as I can remember when you get your chips all in if a bigger stack calls you, you lose more often than you probably should. Of course I have no stats to back up a claim like this, it’s just an observation I’ve noticed and have started to use in my game. I have started to call all ins with almost any 2 cards if I’m last to act. And yes it seems I win more than I should in that situation. Does anyone else feel this way? I feel like I can predict the cards that are going to come to make the bigger stack win. Rant over!! Just frustrating to play forever in a mtt and get it in good more often than not and still lose more often than not!

Yes it's just my observation, and I know what feeling you have there, and I also see it at ACR quite often. Actually I've been exploiting this at iPoker for long time and it still works well. Simply check these 2 situations at ACR/party/ipoker in like 100 deals and compare the results.

1) You're betting 3-4bb pre-flop, short stack goes all-in, and you call. In 70-80% of cases you lose. Hand doesn't really matter.

2) You're sitting behing the short stack, there was no pre-flop raise, but short stack goes all-in, and you call. In 70-80% of cases you win.

and 3rd situation as a bonus.

4 people go all-in infront of you, and you have a dominating stack, CALL WITH ANY TWO CARDS! You have a 70-80% chance to bust them all.

It might sound stupid, cause poker players like to think that random generators are not subjective programs written by humans, but instead they prefer to think that it's something absolutely random and objective. But I've been testing it, I see the results, specially the last one, with 4 all-ins infront of you and you're the dominating stack calling with sick hand like 10-4os or K2 and end up with quads or sick straight. As for the first 2 situations - they work perfectly during early stages of tourneys, specially in rebuys at iPoker and re-entries at ACR. But things change as you approach to the final table
I don't know why, and I don't insist, it's just my observation and experience. It's something like a set of rules while the prize pool is building. It works well during late registration, and it's not working during late stages of the MTT. It's not working in SnGs, not working in cash games, only during rebuy or late registration period at few specific poker platforms, and it works during the first hour of a freeroll. Test it for yourself, it's easy at ACR and iPoker.
It's quite shocking when you're getting 80/20 results by calling monster all-ins with trash hands, while your opponent mathematically ahead in 80% of cases, but instead he's losing in 80% of cases because he haven't played the hand in the right sequence.

Just remember that online poker sites are designed to make money and also it is a computer program and computer programs can be manipulated...I don't think all online poker sites are rigged but there are some I do question (cough cough WPN cough)

I don't know for sure either, but I certainly hope it is not rigged. It seems like a big risk for companies that are making so much from rake, but when have greedy people ever stopped in the past from doing something wrong just because they have a lot. I will just try to be optimistic and enjoy the process of learning poker through online play and work on my own abilities and skill.

There's no risk to the companies. It's not rigged to favour any particular player over the long term. Think of it like a multiplayer slot machine where spinning a win means running good for a tournament or for a cash session, whereas other times it is a mix of run good and run bad, and at worst is a spin for a prolonged run bad. It's very much like that - very subtle rig that isn't visible unless you dissect every player's hand history over an extended period of time.

I just got paid because two players got cheated, one had to pay back 1,700.00 and the other ,6800.00

its not rigged ,but you play more hands online vs live ,so more coolers and bad beats

There is some really good information in that article that explains some of the misconceptions players have.

The thing I see the most is players having a bad day or even a bad week - or they are making a lot of wrong decisions - and they instantly think the game is cheating them.

They will post hands and say "No way should this happen!" - and I know instantly they have never played live poker. I have been playing live poker for about 10 years and I have seen it all happen in a situation where it can not possibly be rigged.

What are your thoughts?

Nope, I dont trust online poker.

I once had a nice bankroll that was $500.00 and the poker room closed on me and kept my money that was back in 2007 or thereabouts.

Now I was reading an article that said you should have 30 buy ins for the level of poker you want to buy in at.

So if I wanted $1/$2 level I would need $6,000.00 bankroll. There is no way in hell that I am leaving $6,000.00 online in a poker room.

I was wondering for those that play levels like that are above like $3/$6, where do they keep their bankroll?

Do you just keep enough on there for 1 or 2 buy in's or do you leave it all on there? Especially when trying to clear the bonus money for the deposit? I just don't have the balls to leave that much on here after being burned once

ALL POKER SOFTWARE Code USE THE SAME Principle FOR regulating the bad player/new account vs regs /experienced players they could use the ABILITY of the player to regulate the distribution of the board ( that's why you cant possible to setup fishes after you won a big torney money and you switch at low stakes you will always get bad beaten before entering the payed zone.
Pokerstars always says that :that dealing is Random , but board is changeling based upon Players Action determine the outcome cards from Board .
is like : we cheat you , we just told you how we dealing the cards .

this is also a getaway say in case someone will ever question RNG in ONline poker ( we told you how we distribute the cards remains to you if you accept to play or not with this system)

I know that the computer randomly shuffles and deals to every player with the same probabilities but yesterday I was convinced that I was playing against bots. I lost about ten hands in a row where I was in the lead against a player who had a shorter chip stack and as soon as I called their all-in the next card (the turn or river) was the card that killed my hand....highly suspect.

Alot these days are staked and or sponsored. Basically they are given tens of thousands of dollars to play with either from the site or people sponsoring them.

It seems possible that with all the computer code out there to create programs that could read players betting habits and tailor hands to beat them, but I think the real problem is in cash games.

Imagine, somewhere in a huge room there are players sitting at the same cash tables with someone not aware, 1 player playing 5 other players that are playing with company money, like stockbrokers, and they have nothing to lose and are just there to push the betting, they are paid to just play and really don't care, the only goal is to bust that 1 player out and move on to another.


You really have no clue who you are playing against in a cash game.

Any game can be rigged, on line or otherwise, I was cheated many years ago by a group of people that had the dealer, and I found out later, several players were just there to be fillers and drive the bets, playing with house money. Casino's can do this regularly, they can take a blackjack table and if a player is winning, dispatch other (house) players to the table to disrupt the flow. Make dumb plays to change the outcome.

It's Rigged

I think it's rigged when you go all in preflop and the guy calls with a 75o and hit a straight.

The truly good players, either they are cash gamers or MTT grinders, are consistent winners in the long run. This is the greatest evidence that online poker is not rigged. But from time to time there were (and probably are) small, unknown, shitty scam mafia sites. But, is there any reason really to put money at these shady sites, intstead of staying to the big trusted rooms?

tonight results

I did well tonight. made the top 9 in 1 tournament. so made money. I was sitting good but got AA pushed and called by 89 turn brought him a 3rd 9. frustrating but got to stick to the plan.

There are many successful players in online poker and they don’t complain about it all.
when we win we praise ourselves. when we lose we blame someone or something
in any business you can become better even if the whole world is against you.

Rigged?

I have seen some really strange things online. Like 'super players' that just dont lose, that can do things others cant (like chat after an all-in when nobody else can). Im in money from poker, so I cant complain, but yeah lol
