Hello

My husband and I started playing online poker together we are still very new and have noticed something very odd. We have played just over 4,000 hands, in those 4,000 hands we have seen QQ come up 61 times that we could see and every time we saw them they were called by a AK. Is this just software? Is it random? Out of the 61 outcomes the player with more chips won every time.

Has anyone seen this? How 2 play them

QQ is panic, it's the unluckiest pair in poker. But, there's definitely something strange about these poker Apps. I don't trust them anymore. Especially not on GG.

Generally, in the later stages of the tournament, these hands always clash, but at the beginning of the tournament it's possible to avoid this, as this type of situation is called a coin flip, meaning both hands have approximately a 50% chance of success.

That's just superstition; in poker, there's the downswing, and that's what truly determines all your results.

Do you honestly think anyone in their right mind would believe this? Although... on this forum you could probably get a couple dozen people to co-sign that nonsense.

I'm going to put in a request to have your post moved to a section where it might get more exposure and more comments.

If you run this thousands of times, QQ will win much more than AK.It also depends on position. I'll often play QQ for stacks, AK less often, and you can call a three-bet in position with them just fine.

This is actually just variance and perception, not something rigged or non-random.

First, QQ vs AK is a very common all-in matchup in poker, especially preflop. Statistically, QQ is about a ~55% favorite against AK, while AK still has around ~45% equity, so it’s basically a coin flip with a slight edge to QQ.

Now about your sample:

  • 4,000 hands is still a very small sample in poker terms
  • Seeing QQ 61 times is not unusual
  • Seeing them called by AK frequently is also normal, since AK is a premium hand
What’s happening is likely selection bias — you remember the spots where QQ vs AK happened and ignore all the times they didn’t.

Also, “the player with more chips winning every time” is not a real mechanic in poker. Stacks don’t influence card outcomes. That’s just coincidence within a small sample.

Important point:
Even unlikely streaks happen all the time in poker. You could flip a coin 10 times and get heads 8–9 times — it doesn’t mean the coin is rigged.

How to play QQ vs AK:

  • Preflop: QQ is strong → usually raise/3-bet and often go all-in
  • Postflop: Be cautious if an Ace or King hits
  • Don’t overthink results — focus on making +EV decisions
In short:
Nothing suspicious here — just normal poker variance combined with a small sample size.

I'd say instead of loosing time searching for some werid patterns, focus on solid, +EV play. Unless you just enjoy such nonsense, conspiracy theories.

I'd argue JJ is worse. I just try and cash in preflop tbh I hate playing them out

Well it is kust Random Number Generator! that's it. default coin flip QQ vs AK. player with more chips wins i think it is just luck!

So this sounds weird but my husband actually tracks all the hands played in a spread sheet hence how we have those stats. I’m not saying anything is rigged it just seems very strange over several tournaments.

Positive expected value. Like, for example you play QQ vs AK, you are about 55% vs 45% favorite. Perhaps it is not much, but still enough.

almost 50/50 situation, but with QQ you have a pair already. So, QQ is a little bit better.

I have this feeling also, other day I shoved A3 and got called by 93 at the final table, the player with more chips won with three of a kind on 9 on flop, I just feel like this poker platforms does not just use cards as it should, but analyze the actions and give cards based on this, which would be wrong since the cards should be delivered randomly, not based on actions or chip stack.
Hope I am wrong and just need to improve my game LOL
God bless

I understand the odds of the hands. What we can’t figure out is why they always seem to be dealt together almost to get action on the table. I know lots of more hands then live but we seem to see other same hands against each other often too. Again I don’t think it’s rigged but it also doesn’t seem like live poker either

Whenever you have strong hands, aways remember it might be a trap. poker online is rigged, don't be reckless.
Play skeptical.

Your memory is not good. I don't think your QQ is always against AK. It is impossible.

QQ v AK is very common as both hands are happy to get in preflop and they unblock each other. Its not every time though obviously.

What site are you playing on?

Shouldn't be too difficult to post a dozen screenshots if it's happening every single time.

Statistically, the probability of AK calling 100% of the time, and that the player calling with the most chips wins 100% of the time, is almost impossible.

THERE'S NEVER A QQ 😆😆😆😆

That's software, programming, there's no other way to put it.
