I’ve tried both aproachat mand for me, one table simply leads to better decisions and better results.austral said:The philosophy of a player who chooses to play one table would be something along the lines of: I don’t want to make more decisions; I want to make better decisions.
I agree that playing multiple tables isn’t for eveeryone, and I’ve learned that from my own experience.dzsire said:Playing at multiple tables isn't for everyone.
That said, you're right in that you focus on one table—after all, that's what you'd do in real life, when you are at a casino.
I’ve had a similer experience when playing multiple tournaments at once specially when one reaches the critical stagesmarco198121 said:It’s easy for me to manage the early and middle stages, but during the critical late stages—like yesterday, for instance—you tend to focus intensely on the specific situation you're in, such as the pre-bubble or a final table. That’s exactly what happened to me yesterday while playing two CardsChat tournaments simultaneously. I was at a tense final table in the WPT event, while the PartyPoker tournament hadn't reached that stage yet; however, without realizing it, I neglected some plays on PartyPoker because I was so focused on the WPT final table, and that caused me to lose positions on PartyPoker.

I respect your choice. For me, playing just one table allows me to stay much more focused, gather more information, study my opponents, and make better decisions while reducing mistakesthedarkman said:I can play 3 tables comfortably. I have played more but for me, 3 is the optimum.
I feel the same way, 1 table may be less exciting, but it gives me more time to study my opponents and make better decisionsSintubai said:For those who don't need to play a high volume of games, it's a great option to stay fully focused by playing just one table at a time!
Although I do find playing a single table online a bit monotonous, unless it's an important tournament or the final table is ok
Absolutely, everyone has their own rhythm and comfort level depending on their experienceRmi said:That depends on each player and the practice they have.
I understand your point, and I agree that experience makes multi-tabling easier. Personally, I still prefer one table because it allows me to focus deeply, study my opponents, and make better decisions.Poker Orifice said:One or two tables is recommended if you're just getting started or still learning a new game... but if you've been playing for awhile you really should strive to add in more. One would think that one's intuitive process improves greatly and over time - - you will recognize certain spots frequently and will intuitively know how to deal with them. Many of today's regs. are playing upwards of a dozen tables at a time (some are even playing 20-24 tables earlier in their sessions). I'm referring to profiting regs. including some of the best.
