TheEngineer, could you find out some news for us USA players on whats going on with the DOJ and our money. I've been looking on the PPA for an update, and searching the the net but i'm coming up empty.

What message am I sending? All the links just show twitter streams, with no apparent message.

Also, got my PCA email today, and the big bold Send a Letter buttons don't work. Other links on the page do work, but not the Send a Letter Links.

If you log into Twitter first, you'll see a prepopulated tweet that you can either send as-is or edit to suit.

PPA's next meeting with the DoJ is set for 11/13. John Pappas and attorney Marc Zwillinger will represent the PPA at the meeting (Marc used to work for the DOJ, has done a lot of legal work for the PPA and other poker-related clients and is not a bad poker player himself). The DOJ's AFMLS division will have 3 or 4 of its attorneys present.

As to the latest issue of account histories not reflecting late changes and uncashed withdrawals, That is a bit of a new development as, remember, we were all assured FTP had already done this fixing. Of course, lots of things we were "assured of" have not proven to be correct. I suppose it is possible the histories are not the same information given to the DOJ - meaning maybe FTP fixed it for the DOJ but not in the account history section for players. Either way, it is encouraging that we have account histories available and that for at least some the numbers are correct.

You can be assured that we will make the DOJ aware of this issue, try and find out the cause, and suggest ways to make sure players are protected.

If this passes, we'll have a lot of work to do at the state level to get states to opt in, of course. Some won't right away, so we'll be staying on them to push them to join in. After that, we'll be working on tax fairness and other issues, not to mention the B&M fight (we helped push Maryland's Question 7 across the finish line last week). So, no rest for the weary!
