Let's all be sure to participate in the community daily action plan! It is an easy, effective way for us to magnify our individual voices. By organizing, we have succeeded in securing virtually 100% of political social media poker discourse. State and federal lawmakers have noticed!

Let's also all try to post suggestions for future actions. After all, while the plan does work closely with PPA to optimize effectiveness of the plan, it's not part of PPA. It's the community plan and I'm simply the facilitator (as I have been since well prior to my role with PPA). Thanks!

Minnesota poker professional Jason "PBJaxx" Senti, best known for his seventh-place finish in the 2010 World Series of Poker Main Event, has taken the lead in putting together today's community action plan! Let's all participate!

======================================

Wednesday, December 12th

Right now is an important time for our fight for regulated online poker in the US. While I am no expert when it comes to politics, many believe our best chance at federal legislation of online poker in the U.S. is this month during the lame duck session of Congress.

The regular Daily Action Plan is still the best way to make sure that you are getting your message out there regularly to as many people of influence as possible. That said, not everyone has the time and/or willingness to commit to take those actions every day.

Please join me in making our voices heard on Wednesday, December 12th. I hope you can take 60 seconds to help for just one day to help our cause.

Similar to the DAP, the pre-filled Twitter messages in the 12/12/12 action plan are generic in asking that our lawmakers support our right to play online poker in our own homes. If you prefer to be more specific, the tweets are fully editable and you can change them to your own message.

Online poker is easy for politicians to ignore, but I hope we will be loud enough on this day that we show how important this issue is to us. Please spread the word about this to other poker players on Twitter, Facebook, and any other way you can think of!

Let's come together as a community for this one day to let our elected leaders know that online poker is very important to us.

Twitter (Takes Just One Minute):

Click HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE to send pre-filled tweets to our politicians. Just hit submit to send the message "as is," or you can edit them as you wish.

Contact Your Lawmakers:

I understand not everyone is on Facebook and Twitter, but we can ALL visit, call, and email our elected representatives! To set up a visit with one or both of your Senators' staffs at a local office, simply click HERE for all the info you will need. Using the same link for contact information, you can call your lawmakers to ask for their support for poker. The discussion is as simple as, "I encourage the senator to support my right to play online poker in my own home on my own computer. Thank you!"

Finally, please send a letter to your senators. Sending a letter could not be simpler. You can send a prewritten, fully editable letter in support of poker to both of your senators in just 60 seconds simply by clicking HERE!

Facebook:

Please leave pro poker comments on House Speaker John Boehner's (HERE and HERE), Senator Harry Reid's, and President Barack Obama's Facebook walls. Leave a comment on any recent wall post. It can be as simple as the message from the prefilled tweet or the prefilled letter above. Be sure to like the other pro poker comments!

Thank you for participating!

your time is not nothing ....dont waste it....money and re-election positions are all that influences politicians.

That's really no so, but our efforts do target both of those areas. Lawmakers are always looking at the next election, which is why they pay attention to organized efforts like ours. They also want money, which is why PPA has a PAC, as do gaming groups.

It all starts at the grassroots, so let's all do these actions to set up future successes.

I should reply back to this saying we the players don't like the black out in HB1174
Thank you for contacting me about the regulation of online poker. I appreciate hearing from you.
I recognize the increasing prevalence of internet poker and the impact the Department of Justice's recent actions have had on many Pennsylvanians. I also understand the economic implications and other effects of an unregulated internet poker environment.
Specific to your concerns, Representative John Campbell of California introduced the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection and Enforcement Act (H.R. 1174) on March 12, 2011. Among its provisions, this measure would allow for the licensing of internet gambling. H.R. 1174 would also establish various consumer protections. The measure is currently pending before the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit.
As you may also know, Representative Joe Barton (R-TX) introduced H.R. 2366 on June 24, 2011. Among its provisions, this measure would establish a program for state licensing of Internet poker. H.R. 2366 is currently pending before the House Committees on Energy and Commerce, Financial Services, and the Judiciary for review. While companion legislation has not yet been introduced in the Senate, please be assured that I will keep your thoughts in mind as these bills progress through the legislative process in the House.
Thank you again for your correspondence. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future if I can be of assistance.
Sincerely,

Pat Toomey
U.S. Senator, Pennsylvania

With the demise of federal poker legislation in 2012, the fight is now largely at the states. This gives us new opportunities, but many challenges. We'll ALL have to be on board, pushing with all we have.

While this plan is not part of PPA, I do need to mention that PPA is not a group to whom we players outsourced this effort. Anyone who thinks they don't have to work because PPA owes them that is flat-out wrong. In fact, having an organized effort means we all have to work harder, not less.

It's all about numbers and, quite frankly, we need more participants. If we don't show our elected representatives that there is a great deal of support for our position, it will be very hard to win them to our side. The fight itself rests here -- with the poker community -- and we all need to do our part if we want to win.
