"Special tournaments" would be the ones that our tournament department will add once the wsop ends. And yes it will only apply for those coming tournaments. But if we have any new update I will let you know here and also on our official website.

Ahhhh....That explains it. I was logging in, got a significant update, screen opened and just sat there with a 'configuring' message.
