As of today Bodog/Bovada will only be providing poker to US and Canadian residents. Players will no longer be able to use play poker or use the Sportsbook from Bodog.co.uk.

Bodog is re-aligning their product strategy in that region and decided to withdraw the poker and sportsbook product.

Players who can access Bovada.lv and Bodog.ca will be to continue to play poker and use the Sportsbook.

Guess they either didn't know - or just didn't know what to say.

What an interesting turn of events. I guess Bovado/Bodog is making more money from the starved for action US people than they are from the ROW players who live in the land of plenty. Curious they are keeping Canada, which of course I think is great. Maybe they're trying to keep it Continental?!

Its possible UK and European players can play from Bodog88

Bodog Closing Online Poker Room in UK, Europe

Bovada, Bodog’s licensee accepting players in the United States, and Bodog.CA, its Canada-facing operation, remain online, as does the Asian-focused Bodog88.com.

Players in the UK and Europe who wish to continue to play on the Bodog Poker Network may still be able to create a new account on Bodog88.

Our Bodog rep says that article is incorrect and that UK and European players can not play from there and that there are no immediate plans for that to happen.

ic

Seems like dumb decision and quite a reversal of the usual 'close the US-Facing poker room'

What are they thinking? Does this mean the recreational model they trumpeted is full of crumpets? Why not sell the UK/Euro software off to someone who would continue to run it for the benefit of the current players

Geez. Where will you Europeans go??? I'm so sorry for you. lol

Not even a little taste. This is like, the zip-loc bag....for the turd sandwich that poker sites have been feeding us American players for a long time. I wouldn't worry Europeans. You will never have to take a bite.

Bovada. That's my main site. I am glad they are sticking with the North American players but it should be cutting the pool down a bit, one would think. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that I had a big win yesterday LOL

I haven't played on Bovada for a few days. Has anyone noticed a big drop off in traffic?

Bodog Closing Online Poker Room in UK, Europe

Bodog Closing Online Poker Room in UK, Europe

Euro-facing Bodog.co.uk pivots to target the Asian expat community; New sign-ups temporarily blocked for casino relaunch, but poker will not return.

The bodog brand Bodog.co.uk has temporarily blocked new signups and will shut down its online poker room, pokerfuse has learned.

Bovada, Bodog’s licensee accepting players in the United States, and Bodog.CA, its Canada-facing operation, remain online, as does the Asian-focused Bodog88.com.

Bodog.EU recently shuttered, and redirected players to Bodog.co.uk. This catered to most European players, although it did recently withdraw from 20 countries including Belgium and much of the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Players in the UK and Europe who wish to continue to play on the Bodog Poker Network may still be able to create a new account on Bodog88.

The account sign-up page on Bodog.co.uk now informs customers that “improvements are coming soon,” with a relaunched website focusing on its live dealer casino. The poker room, however, will close.

In a press release last week, Bodog UK announced that the relaunch was to focus on the Asian expat market. The new site is to offer “more traditional casino games and sports betting” but that “poker will not be included in the initial launch of the new UK-facing website.”

On the website today, it states “poker and sportsbook which will cease in their existing form.” Players who feel “the site will no longer cater to your gaming needs” have the option to cash out.

Bodog Asia recently bought the Bodog Poker Network and Bodog.co.uk, hence the pivot to focus almost exclusively on the Asian markets.
