Well I think Pokerstars is making a good move, any adding to its player pool will be good for it, however I do like to play on Grosvenor poker on the ipoker network and hope this doesn't affect their numbers too much by taling away UK players

I don't know about liquidity but I've looked at the timetable for the new Micromillions. No stud hi lo, no PLO8, no FLO8. Total waste.

Good morning everyone. Hopefully, this will make PokerStars bring back the 180-player Sit & Gos with 15-minute blind levels, as well as the 45-player ones with 10-minute blind levels, for $1.

In MTTs, there was also a regular tournament with 10-minute levels that was removed from the schedule, while they kept the 8-minute ones.

In my opinion, this is gradually pushing more and more micro-stakes players away from the platform.

Does Neymar Jr poker deal with PokerStars do anything anymore or does he care? Sadly I was watching some Twitch streams from him and it seems he has not played poker at all anymore and has been victim of the Gen Z influence... he was playing ROULETTE! The devil's game.
No no he played the wsop Main but busted rather quickly, the roulette most likely came after that 😁

Thats almost certainly not going to happen. With current (lack of) interest in SnGs it would not be possible to get a 180 player to fill, and even 45 player games would have a tough time filling. On Demand is the future for MTT SnGs, so people dont need to sit and wait for the game to begin but can jump in during late registration. In my opinion we should be happy, we have the 32-mans now.

There are still lots of tournaments with 10 minute blind levels including the Big.

I think, the majority of tournament players actually prefer faster games. With single table SnGs the turbos were more popular than those with regular speed, even before the latter got removed. Its a bit like with cash games, where the more action filled 6-max is more popular than 9-max.

Stars needs a radical and fair change to return to the top of the business; it is already lagging behind, so let's hope this is the path to getting back in the game.

Its kind of amazing, that everyone seem to ignore the obvious fact, that a lot of the declining player pool on PokerStars is due to the simple fact, they left a lot of markets. Even just by reading this thread you can kind of get a hint. And if you actually play on PokerStars, its kind of easy to notice, that a large percentage of the players are from a fairly limited number of countries, while a lot of countries are completely missing.

And largely PokerStars did not leave countries like Latvia or Peru for fun. They did it for legal reasons, since more and more countries have made laws, that make online gambling illegal. PokerStars are facing lawsuits in Netherlands from players, who lost money on the site, when PokerStars operated there as a grey market site. So one can hardly blame them for deciding to stop operating in countries, where its not legal.

This is a really positive move. It's stupid that there exist lots of small different sites in the UK catering to UK players when it's much more beneficial to have them in one player pool. Everyone wins that way. Pokerstars are far from dead. In fact, this shift suggests they are serious about reclaiming the market.

I have played on the site since I was legally allowed to back in 2009 and obviously the site was AWESOME back then and they got big headed when they were ahead and completely deserve the downfall. Having said that, nothing they have done is so serious that they deserve to die. In fact, a lot of what they did in the post golden era in terms of screwing over players (while bad then) should be judged against today's standards and wouldn't even come close. I mean GG has PVI and they scam rake from people through deceptive rakeback.

In terms of comparing the market today. Pokerstars is the ONLY site that is actually good and I trust playing on. Their customer service (while bad compared with the good ol days) still works.
They honour payouts and segregate their player's money
They don't punish winning players or lock them out of games.
They allow huds
They punish bots relentlessly and have the best security by far.
They are actually regulated.
Awesome software.
And actually, contrary to popular belief, they have a lot of recreational players.

Compare that with literally every other site on the market. I can't think of a single one that comes close. And honestly I never feel my payouts or funds are completely safe on other sites.
