I've been considering playing on Jackpoker but from my searches on Reddit and 2+2 there is a lot of suspicion of botting.

Not only that but there are some good articles on the topic too.

That said, is there any harm playing freerolls there? There are some names I recognize like GamblersEmpire and Pokerdicas so that lends some legitimacy.

We hear about bots all the time, but I honestly have no experience with them (that I know of). A bot will have been programmed to play based on Poker ABC's. Most of us all play some other style, which was never taught in Poker ABC's. The way I see it, bots are nothing to be afraid of, and perhaps something to be sought after.

I wouldn't bother playing on a site like that for a lot of reasons....,

why reward this site with your participation...there are far more reputable sites out there👍

Jackpoker was 'allegedly' using them to prevent overlays so they are absolutely not something an EV minded person should ever consider "sought after".

As others have said, there are many other and more reputable sites out there, even grey market sites like ACR, Ignition, Bodog, BetOnline, Global Poker etc. So personally I would not bother with a site like JackPoker, bots or no bots.

Sure you could play there or anywhere else but if you are grinding out too much poker somewhere out there then surely there´s above average chance someone else considers you to be bot instead

I play on Ignition, but only the free ones. There have been reports of bot farms playing there. It's a complicated issue; we need to demand real action from the poker App to mitigate this type of behavior.

Well, if you're able to be profitable there, your withdrawals aren't having any issues, and you haven't confirmed the suspicion, there doesn't seem to be a strong reason to switch.

I would only play free tournaments; if the use of bots is obvious, it wouldn't be worth depositing money on those poker sites.

Bots exist in all rooms, even the top ones. It's just very difficult to track them down and prove them. Some rooms combat them themselves, while others support them for increased online participation.

If it's a poker room that is paying the cashouts, I would play, but only freerolls and with freeroll money.

Hmm from what I know, bots are everywhere except pokerstars, or at least I didn't hear about them there, at gg poker I already had my ears covered like one of the good cash regs mentioned, while in these biggest rooms there is probably no need to be afraid of bots in mtt, if it is cash.

I didn't realize that such a large percentage of today's members are purely freetrollers... sigh :(
Lodestone, I've never heard of that site. And, there's plenty of other sites to choose from. I heard Coin Poker is gaining traction. I haven't tried it yet but it's on my list.

Looking up people's sharkscopes really shows how many people don't play anything but freerolls.

Coinpoker has the best mobile app I've seen of any room by a large margin. Stats, full notetaking functionality, good customization. Honestly I might prefer mobile because their desktop client isn't very resource efficient. Not as bad as that WPT trash but close.

I've been playing on Jackpoker and can say that everything bad you hear about it is an understatement. Got called a slur on the second game I played so their branding of being friendly and not toxic is a lie. They run high buyin tourneys ALL DAY even when nearly every other room is running only micros and occasional lows/mediums during off peak hours. The idea that they have enough players to prevent an overlay on a $150 buyin when 888 and party are overlaying sub $5 buyins is clownery. Their schedule is all the evidence a thinking person needs to know the place is empty other than freeroll grinders, bots and the occasional oblivious moron. They use the same backend as Stake Poker but have stats. Stake runs a much more standard schedule and has a massive natural playerbase. Comparing the two is just more evidence that Jack is mostly just bots playing vs bots.

Probably not. Even if it's just a suspicion, I'd rather play somewhere I trust. Poker is hard enough without wondering whether you're playing against bots. If a site has a good reputation for detecting and banning them, I'd feel much more comfortable putting my money there.

Well, I started playing poker in 2018, and over that time I’ve heard about some small sites that allow the same player to have multiple accounts at the same time. I simply don’t even create an account on those sites. I play on well-known sites. There are so many large, well-known, and secure sites that there’s no need to play on small ones. Why? Besides playing without being sure you’re in a 100% secure environment, you also end up playing in smaller fields. It doesn’t make any sense, in my opinion.

Yes, I would play if there are freerolls :)
This question is rhetorical considering that you are asking it to members of the CardsChat community :)

It's only worth participating if it's strictly in freerolls to pass the time without risking a single penny. I would rather migrate to big sites like PokerStars or WPT
