Hey everyone,
I’ve been splitting my volume between PokerStars and WPT Global lately, and man, the games feel completely different.
On Stars, the field feels incredibly reg-heavy, the software is super smooth, and everyone is playing a pretty standard, tight-aggressive HUD-based game. But then I jump over to WPT Global, and it feels like the Wild West. The pools are way softer, but the variance is absolutely insane because people are willing to gamble so much lighter.
I’m finding it tough to mentally adjust between the two. On Stars I feel like I'm playing a game of chess, but on WPT it feels like a street fight.
For those of you multi-tabling both sites, how are you adjusting your strategies? Are you tightening up on WPT to exploit the loose callers, or playing more small-ball poker?

Hi, I play on GGPoker and recently started playing on WPT as well. Your observations regarding opponents' playing styles are spot on. On WPT, people play a loose-aggressive style; it’s hard to put an opponent on a specific hand because they’ll open with any two cards, regardless of position. Everyone also loves to limp—even with top-pair hands. So you need to play aggressively against them to induce calls and scoop up big pots. There’s no option to tag players, which makes things a bit trickier since you can't memorize every opponent. But overall, it’s a good site: there are plenty of tournaments, especially at low and mid-stakes and customer support is excellent.

Sounds like a very soft site. Almost to good be to true, unless you are talking specifically about freerolls or penny games. I would love to try it, but they sadly do not operate in Sweden.

Yeah, how do I sign up lol? I can't because my country isn't allowed. Imagine how soft WPT Gold if Global is this soft.

I don't know if it's because it's a freeroll but I played yesterday and had AA about 3 times and didn't get any value from it. Made me Wpt players play too tight

Hi, I just checked the list of countries where playing on WPT Global is allowed. Access is available in Sweden. I can contact support to confirm if this is correct.

Not according to their own homepage. In fact they dont seem to be available in any of the big western european countries including UK, Germany, Netherlands or Belgium. All these countries are handing out licenses to global sites, as are Sweden and Danmark, but WPT Global does not seem to have aquired any of these. Looking over this list the name "Global" is a bit of an exaggeration :)
