Has anyone used an AI programme to help them study poker?

What if ChatGPT (or similar) were to be able to effectively become your coach? Would you use it?

You can make them your coach. Even local (not working with the big systems of Google, Chatgpt and so on)LLMs are able to do this relatively effective.
Also these local LLM don´t give your data to the big internet companies to train their systems more.
These things are way cheaper than GTO Wizard.
But as all of the models halluzinate if they have no really good understanding sometimes, check the results 2 or 3 times.

They are great at explaining some concepts and do hand analysis really well.

I think AI can definitely be used for learning. I think it's a correct, progressive, and promising approach. But at the same time, you need to be able to learn from your own experience, and you may need to learn to partially involve AI in self-learning and self-analysis. How exactly, it's hard to say. You just have to try, combine one thing with another, and find your own methods and ways.

I don't use AI. I don't think there's anything better than experience. And you get experience by playing a lot. That's what I do.

I've tried it. It does potentially work and give you advice (Gemini, ChatGPT) but not so sure how accurate and consistent they are with understanding hand histories, etc. over a larger sample of hands.

I've never used it, but I've heard players say they do, and I'm interested to see if it works. However, chatgpt isn't a good option.

AI is a great tool for working on your game. Its great for odds, strategy, GTO, and ICM.

You can ask AI what pros think about certain plays.

The possibilities are unlimited.

AI can be helpful for studying poker, especially for hand analysis and basic theory. But it’s not a shortcut to becoming a winning player. Experience, discipline, and understanding people still matter a lot. I’d use AI as a support tool, not a coach replacement.

Interesting thought. I'll give it a go next time, currently I have 0 experience with using AI for poker. But AI has helped me on many other subjects, so I see why not.

Just with any other source on the internet, it's important to fact check though and don't put sensitive/personal data in.

I believe that AI can be useful like a discussion partner, something difficult to find today. A lot of new players don’t even know what questions to ask, and an AI can at least point them in the right direction. I would totally use AI as a supplement, specially to help me set clear goals, explain or review concepts, and give me ideas that otherwise I would receive only when I read some book, article or forum. That’s where I see the biggest value.

there's another post about this : LLMs don't give good technical poker advices. They suck. Compare it to GTO tools, you'll realize that in 1 hour.

Yes, I’ve used ChatGPT as a study tool. It’s great for quick hand reviews, range explanations, and spotting leaks. I still use solvers for precise GTO/ICM spots, but as a “daily coach” it’s very useful.

I could certainly use AI if necessary, but it is essential to clearly understand the specific purposes for which it would be used. I do not believe that AI could serve as a coach in a game such as poker. However, I believe that AI could serve as your fitness coach or nutritionist, for example. I consider these to be more realistic options.

Well, I tried it a few times and honestly liked how Deepseek (the model I used) handles the answers!

However, some caution is still needed when studying using this method. Some prior knowledge of what you're revisiting is necessary... AI is a fantastic tool not only for studying poker, but it's really necessary knowedge to operate these machines correctly.

Knowing how to operate them can undoubtedly help us a lot in our daily poker development!

I’ve been spending two hours a day with an AI trainer lately, and my brain feels like it’s been through a blender. It’s amazing how many 'standard' plays I thought were good are actually losing me money in the long run. But I’ve also noticed that the more I study with AI, the more 'robotic' my game feels
