If it's free, even better.

I do not recommend using additional software for beginners, even if it is free. A beginner must master the basics of the game and gain basic skills to further improve them, and therefore it is important that a beginner plays and learns from his or her own mistakes, accumulating valuable experience.

I would recommend a HUD from PT4 or HM3 but as most of the sites CardsChat has freerolls on doesn't have HUD usage you could work up to platinum level and wait until you've made the money from poker before you buy it.

So far as educational content there's quite a bit of resources on CC under the poker tab at the top, start from there and work your way through then once you know where you stand and what you need to work on you can use your CardsChat freeroll profits to pay for paid content.

Once you're looking to pay for content, try and find a coach / site you relate to before you pay for coaching, as having a coach or instructor you can understand and is able to speak at your level of understanding of the game is really important. There is no such thing as the best coach or the best coach, it's whatever works best for you that is going to have the highest value.

Hope this helps,

I wouldn't bother with it these days. Years ago when none of the sites supplied their own HUD and PokerTracker & HoldemManager were allowed to be used on all sites, I'd say YES, 100% get one of them. But these days many of the sites don't allow them AND now some of the site are supplying their own basic HUDs.
If you're looking for an edge, it's not going to give you one as a beginning player. Work on improving your play.

Just hit up the free play tables on any major poker site. No money at risk while you learn, see if it's actually your thing.

I find it a bit strange that people create Apps to teach poker. The basic rules are actually quite simple. What really matters is patience, discipline, and experience at the table. And of course, you need a lot of luck. Even the strongest starting hand doesn't always win, which is one of the things that makes poker so unpredictable.

Adrian Lorenzo from ThePokerAgent compiles a list of free and low-entry poker tools, which are niche and not mainstream.

For beginners who do not want to break the bank it is a good starting point. Check the tools over there, i use sparring poker from few days and i preferred it, compared to dry studying. It is more dynamic and actionable.
