That wasn't a comment on how good Weidman is on the ground, we already knew that. It was a comment on how bad Belfort, a BJJ black belt at least in name, was on the ground.

My point was just that not all apples are created equal... nor are all BJJ black belts.

Do I think Aldo completely ignores ground fighting to focus on his striking? No, of course not. But I think it'd be pretty silly to assume that the same is also true of McGregor...

So the Shamrock v Slice freakshow goes down this weekend...

Assuming Shamrock doesn't cut himself shaving on the morning of the fight or anything and it actually goes ahead, can anyone see this ending ANY other way than Kimbo by KO?!?

He's got the advantage with reach, height, age AND power. Shamrock hasn't stepped into a ring in five years. Kimbo has at least kept busy boxing. And if anyone's likely to take a dive for money, that's probably Shamrock too.

So is Kimbo @ $1.35 free money? Is there any legitimate concern about him not winning?

I'm Picking Shamrock. I believe he regrets not fighting Kimbo the first time as ( with a win ) it would have given him a much needed boost in his career at the time. This event will do big numbers.

I will also add that if Shamrock wins and Tito doesn't get a title shot next or gets one and loses ... we will see Shamrock vs Tito 4.

I'd never even considered that... but you're spot on, if Shamrock continues fighting after this (and he's living in a guddam motor home, so you know he wants the money...) we're totally gonna see Shamrock v Tito 4 at some point because that's how Bellator seems to want to roll these days. I don't even think he needs to beat Kimbo for them to book that fight

Too bad Ken Shamrock couldn't get the win. I can't believe a guy with his experience didn't slip his hand behind the head for the choke he had locked in. Slice was about to tap and almost did. If I was him I would re-think taken that bare knuckle fight he has lined up.

Looks like Tito is getting the next shot at the Title ...

Sounds like the Aldo - McGregor fight may be off for July because Aldo broke a rib in training. Nothing official on it yet just speculation. Here is link with more info and a clip from December where McGregor says that Aldo would back out of a fight in the US because of the commission/drug testing!

Agree that the UFC won't want him to fight Edgar but I have WAY more questions about Aldo. Think this really brings up the PED angle with him as much as anything.

I for one believe the hype. I think he has a real chance of winning the title against Aldo.

Dana definitely loves McGregor, he means lots of $$$, so why wouldn't he? Having said that, he would fight Chad Mendes if Aldo is unable to, so no "Siver like opponent", actually.
