I'm literally falling over laughing here 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Aldo is one of the best defensive fighters the sport has ever seen. Period. Right up there with Cruz. Did you even watch his latest fight with Edgar, as just one example?!? Aldo's defense is f&*king sublime.

Is that true of all muay thai fighters? No. But the fact that you're lumping Aldo in with "all muay thai fighters" shows you're not paying a great deal of attention here.

Thanks for the laugh, it's been fun 🙂

I see now. Ur that person who laughs at his own jokes while everyone is unamused. Borderline autistic behavior. Pitiful.

Sure. Compare Aldo fighting a natural 145er wrestler with that fight against Conor.

Ignorance is a bless they say. That's why u laugh so much.

With the ufc being sold does anyone think the organization will turn into a circus/freak show like pride or perhaps just many crossovers from various promotions.

No more than it already has IMO.

Yes there are new owners but they've left Uncle Dana in charge. And one of their biggest motivations has to be keeping the UFC as a professional and presentable organisation, because the real money in this for them is having Fox and ESPN get into a bidding war over the television rights when the current Fox deal expires.

Crossovers into other forms of media are more likely, as WME's core business is as a talent agency.

ive already come to terms with how the ufc operates. all i can do is hope mcgregor gets viciously knocked out and nobody talks about that two time loser again.
or wait until the next unqualified guy gets pushed to the top because he knows how to play the game and somehow talks his way into main events and title fights. like chael sonnen and brock lesnar.

And you'll keep giving him your money and time!! Your donations are appreciated.

Conor bless you.

The very best version of Conor is not enough to beat a full camp Nate Diaz at 170. The first fight was not a matter of strategy error or Conor getting tired. Nate landed the more efficient punches and Conor did not. Sure he can try to change things but at the end of the day Nate is the better fighter especially fighting at 170.

You are seriously saying that McGregor gassing was not a huge issue in the first fight?? Even his harshest critics acknowledge this. Did you not watch the fight??

Conor was over confident and let Diaz drag him down into the trenches. Unless he makes the same mistake again he could very well win this fight.

And you wonder why real fans don't take irish bandwagoners seriously.

U don't like MMA or the UFC. U like Conor. That's it. He's gone, ur gone.

Irish bandwagoners? It was a joke obviously or is humour really wasted on lesser intellects?

You know absolutely nothing about the MMA scene in Ireland. Must be so easy to classify a whole nation of people based on a strangers post in a discussion forum.

And as for this:

You know absolutely nothing about me either to say something as stupid as that. Not even going to try and justify my almost lifelong love and comnitment for my sport to such an obvious troll. You're plainly only trying to wind people up with your petty little insults.

Cant engage in reasoned balanced discussion so has to fall back on insults. Sad really.

Diaz FTW.

The man beat Conor on 11 days notice last time. I see the fight playing out the same way the first one did. Except Conor will adjust and make it into the later rounds. I see Conor slowing down , getting hurt and then finished again.

Conor has a punchers chance ( despite popular belief I believe he did hurt Diaz in the first fight ). But maby that is all he needs. We will soon find out. There is a reason why this fight is at 170lbs again. Conor wants/needs an excuse for when he losses. But but ... it was at 170lbs.

...and Chael Sonnen, and Giblert Melendez, and BJ Penn, and Ben Rothwell, nd Alistair Overeem... the list goes on 😛

I think the takeaway from this is that the sport as a whole has definitely had a PED problem for its whole existence, and USADA may be helping to clean things up but the job isn't done yet.

B.J. didn't get caught with PED's. He took an IV his doctor gave him. B.J. himself disclosed that information to USADA and thus the reason for his 6 month suspension. If he didn't disclose it to the USADA it's very likely they never would have found out. Let's not put him in a category with PED users.

100% this. I put my $$s on Diaz because he's getting even money and I think he's got a decent edge but to say Conner has no chance is just silly.

*shrugs*

Jon Jones and Brock Lesnar "only" popped for estrogen blockers, not actual steroids too 😛

Point was... well... two points I guess. One, BJ Penn is just impossibly stupid. Of all the ways to fail a USADA test that's about the dumbest possible one.

But more importantly, two, fighters from all over the world are failing tests, for all sorts of stuff minor and otherwise. It's not just a Brazilian problem or a Russian problem or an American problem. The sport as a whole still has a ways to go cleaning itself up.

Agreed, Diaz would be the bet to make (though some of the value has come out of his price)

I'm not saying all irish are bandwagoners but u and a lot of them are just a bunch of fanboys.

I couldn't care less about the MMA scene in Ireland and that doesn't make me less qualified to talk about how delusional you all sound.

Your idol got his ass kicked by an out of shape gate keeper and you come with all those excuses.

And if you think calling someone a bandwagoner is an insult you need to grow some cojones ASAP.

Whats your point exactly?

While I don't want to put words into someone else's mouth, I assume he meant for us to ignore the bit where Diaz actually praises McGregor's boxing...

Like I said mate, you know absolutely nothing about me to call me a fanboy. I can guarantee you that is not the case. I have been passionate about this sport for well over 20 years.

Well actually you are not at all ''qualified'' to comment on Irish supporters of MMA seeing as you automatically and wrongly assume we all sound delusional. Dont believe everything you hear from Dana White of on Joe Rogans podcast. Believe me, there are far more critics of Conor McGregor in this country than there are fans despite what anyone might say to the contrary.

Idol? Seriously, dont make me laugh. Because I happen to be from the same piece of dirt in the ocean as him, you assume he is my idol. Far from it. But at least I can objectively analyse both fighters performance in their last meeting without bias. Unlike you.

Never fails to bring a smile to my face when I see first hand how McGregors marketing and promotional masterplan keeps yielding fruit (and cash!!) with the apparent ease with which he has managed to polarise an entire sporting community.

On one hand you have people who can see it for what it is: Intelligent marketing. On the other, you have obvious morons, who are so rattled and wound up by him that they have completely lost their senses when it comes to him!

Well done Mr. McGregor.

Well it wouldn't be the first time he contradicted himself in this thread to be fair!!! LOL

Like when he said RDA has poor defence against boxers.

Would that be the same RDA that nearly leg-kicked Nate Diaz half to death??

Surely not!! 😀 😀 😀

Thanks. Message recieved and understood.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure McGregor will win the fight... of course, as in any fight, anything can happen, but McGregor should be able to win in a decisive way.

He has been able to get in shape for a 170 pound fight. The previous one he just ate and gain weight fast, which cost him the fight. He was tired at the end of the first round, that's why he lost. This time he won't have that problem.

Well that was a crazy press conference! Conor 30 minutes late then Nate walks off with his Stockton pals talking smack to Conor and then throwing bottles and cans at eachother!

Any chance that was fake and the UFC have Diaz on strings??

Nate wasnt provoked by a question or something Conor said or anything, just got up and left. And then a sh*t talking and bottle throwing all looked kinda cliché to me. Either way it's got people more hyped for this Saturday so I guess all in all it was a successful presser for the UFC lol
