Yesterday started the first Grand Slam of the year in tennis. What are your expectations and who will the winner in the men's singles this year?

Dont care about men singles cause there Djokovic will win one way or another ...
However my expectations about women singles is that the winner will not come from my country. Oh wait.
 
Will see now after todays matches, Novak seemed to be injured and escaped luckily against Fritz in the third round. The good new was that he was leading 2-0 when the injury occurred and had time to recover in the next 2 sets before playing the decider. On the other hand, hats off for the character he showed once again. Will see if he will be on 100% against Raonic.

I think Medvedev and Rublev can make history here this year. Few people only are talking about them, but they are playing very very solid and especially Medvedev is the hidden favorite. I will hope for sure our best tennis player in our country - Grigor to make the miracle against Thiem in 1.8 finals and then he can go through to the final stage. Will be very interesting

got to love nadal right now with djok banged up i dont know if sernea can win it probably
 
Would like to see another Nadal vs. Djokovic final...in the Women's singles, I would like to see Serena win her record breaking 24th Grand Slam.

Nadal vs Djokovic would be nice but Medvedev will ruin that and Serena will be knocked out today

very good performance from Serena did not expect that but she won't win the Australian open my bet is on barty.

Being at home will definitely help Barty, but the winner will probably be the survivor of the Williams/Osaka match.

Osaka is a tough challenge if Barty reaches the final. I will take Osaka to beat Williams. she already beat her in grand slams

Who will be the champion? Djokovic, Nadal? I think Rafa Nadal could be the champion

Medvedev in my opinion. 19 consecutive wins in the tour are an evidence that he is the main favorite. Djokovic - Medvedev will be a fantastic end of the tournament. Medvedev in 5 sets.😀

I was sad to see Rafa lose i wanted djokovic and rafa in the final. I would watch out for tisitipas. I think it will be tistipas in the end holding the trophy.
 
I was surprised by Nadal's defeat, I think the champion will now be Djokovic

For me Medvedev is now a huge favourite over Djokovic. On the womens side is should be an easy win for Osaka as Brady went into the final without beating a top 20 player.

Sadly it was just like that. Guess it is never wrong to cash in couple millions or so for working (hard) like 70+ minutes lol :bebored:

Finally getting too old? I thought Nadal looked quite tired after end of fourth set. Doesn't mean he can't still win big matches but not this long ones, maybe...

You can observe the same !! Likewise, we said the same about Federer a long time ago and he still continues to compete at the top 😀😀
 
I’m looking forward to seeing Djokovic and Medvedev final today, I think Novak will win his 9th Australian Open title
 
I don't expect Medvedev to win..Djokovic is not today with God mode..I bet 50 euros on Djokovic and I hope he wins
