Betting on horses is more difficult to do than in a casino)))

Their is something relaxing about sitting in a betting shop drinking tea flicking through paper putting bets on big horse races like grand national.🙂

Today in gulfstream is the classic of the Caribbean event in which the best purebloods of South America and part of Central America participate and as I really like these types of events, I can not pass up the opportunity to talk about the Venezuelan horses that participated. a lot of chance to win or do good performances on the track, such is the case of the mare Lady Slam who participates in the Lady of the Caribbean will have a proportion of 12-1 and driven by Manuel Franco will have a good performance in my opinion. Then comes the speed cup I think this is where I have more hope that Venezuela will take the trophy with the copy Hierro Colado conducted by E. Jaramillo and without taking away the importance of the other Venezuelan Big Boris One who is undefeated. In the Confraternidad cup I stay with the Mexican mare Jala Jala is a champion. And in the long awaited classic of the Caribbean I can not say that Kukulkan is not a champion but I hope that the Venezuelan Bukowski surprised

This thread takes me back to 1971. In my early twenties, I took a year's special leave to travel (1970/71). I wintered up and worked in London (Dec70 to Mar71). It snowed Christmas Eve and was my first and only ever white Christmas. But that's another story.

Right on top of my bucket list, horse racing wise, was a trip to see the Grand National. I can only remember three things about that day.
1. I bet on three horses in the Grand National (a main bet and two savers), and they all fell.
2. It was a surprisingly close finish.
3. I had a good day, thanks to an on-course tipster, who tipped three winners out of four races.

I could not remember the Grand National winner's name, so had to look it up. I found a you tube video of the race. Specify was the winner and the finish was exactly how I remembered it.

As for the tipster, he was selling the tips for 2/- (10 new pence) per race. I bet on his first three tips and they all won at reasonable odds. His 4th tip was the red hot favourite, so I decided not to bet. Which was just as well, because it was unplaced. At the end of the day, I was up just over 100 pounds, a tidy sum of money, for 1971.

Fun thread to read. I used to train race horses at the Hollywood casino in Charles Town, WV.
Moved in with my girl about six months ago to play poker full time, but that was the only job I truly loved, but was also one of the hardest things I've ever done. Seven days a week, nights and weekends, but standing in the winners circle because of the work you have done was very rewarding.
I started playing poker early in my life and training horses was as close to being at the poker table as I ever got while working a full time job. The amount of work you put into it (most of the time) means the more you get out of it, but bad beats happen even in horse racing.

would be very good to participate to know the brands of you or what horses would like to see win in the day.
Laurel Park 17/03
1) 7-5-3
2) 6-3
3) 1-5-6

I think this is the sport where everyone is betting. You can't watch without cheering. However, unpredictable who will win the race. It's a great experience to watch on the spot!

it is very difficult to predict this type of bets in the casino but it is quite interesting if you bet not a lot of money!

Today is an important day in horse racing as they run 3 classics that are decisive for Kentucky Derby competitors and I go with my favorites in each of these Classics. The Toyota Blue Grass in the Keeneland Hypodrome in that race I go with the one that will be favorite and it takes the Venezuelan Astro Javier Castellano Vekoma for me this horse should achieve the victory given his previous races, besides that in the previous race I like Jaywalk with the same driving. Now at the Wood Memorial in the Aqueduct Hypodrome I like a surprise as it would be Outshine with John Velazquez riding and Todd Pletcher training I predict a good dividend. Finally it is the Santa Anita Derby where Game Winner must show that he is a serious candidate to win the Kentucky Derby his enemy would be the 1 which is stablemate of Bob Baffert

If you don't follow British Horse Racing, you will have still heard about the grandest stage of all in the horse racing community. The Grand National. Today I watched Tiger Roll win the Grand National for the second year on the run, which has been done only once before by the legend that is Red Rum. History made once again and a great achievement For Gordon Elliot and team.
Unfortunately, I was a non believer before the race, with 40 horses running, it's always hard to predict a winner due to many variations that occur throughout the race. Over 4 miles long, 30 jumps to make, all whilst staying out of the way of 39 other horses.

And as you mouse or ****roach races, place your bets ladies and gentlemen.

Aqueduct Race 9, @ 5:22 est., Daily Double 24.

9th Race - #2, Vino Rosso seemingly was built to sprint according to last race. Did well carrying high weights and racing longer contending against the best as a 3 yo.

10th Race - #4 Haikal, horse has a 6th gear, lol, check out his last race was out of contention in the stretch, then blew a hole through them and won. Future monster, Kentucky Derby contender.

Good Luck! 🙂
