Ok Lakers Nation, don't be afraid, Mike Brown is coming to the rescue..... for real? I don't know what to say, stunned. I'm not convinced he can fill Phil's shoes but not a lot of people can.

The Lakers were expected to announce Brown as the 22nd coach in franchise history Wednesday afternoon but first issued a statement.

"In response to rampant speculation and reports about our head coaching position and Mike Brown, we've met with Mike and are very impressed with him," the team said. "In addition, we have an outline for an agreement in place and hope to sign a contract within the next few days."

Meh.... Doesn't ultimately matter who they picked, that person was never gonna be able to live up to what Phil has done. I mean if Mike Brown can even win one championship, Laker fans will just say yeah but Phil won 5 titles and on it will go. I hope he has success, but we will see.

Brown doesn't know how to coach offense. And most of the time he seems to let his assistants run the plays, not sure how good a move that was.

Very good defensive coach a little surprised they didn't hire Brian Shaw though.

I know what you mean rounder22, Shaw has been with them for 7 years now, I thought they were going to give him a chance, and let's not forget that Bryant wanted Shaw; would love to hear what Kobe was thinking when he heard the news... not what he is going to say...because he will obviously say the right thing; blah blah Brown is our coach....blah blah looking forward to working with him....
