Because I wanna get into this sport properly this season and everything needs a containment thread

I hope Favre destroys New Orleans tonight! No I'm not a Favre or Minnesota fan, I just hate Drew Brees.

GO OAKLAND!

I might struggle to follow this game as I'll be watching in Chinese. Probably not good for an NFL n00b

It's ok, I might at least have a basic grasp of Mandarin by the end of the 2nd quater lol

It's about time!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems like 4EVER since last season. It's been tooooooo long IMO.

Let the passing, running, catching & hitting begin :top:

Ahhh ship it got an English stream, might at least undersatnd like 2% of what's happening now

These made me lol.
I love Football, my favorite sport to watch, and I made my first and probably only online bet on the Vikings which makes this more fun to watch.

Gonna be a first time ever happen this year....First time ever a team plays a actual home game in the Super Bowl.

So Tom Brady will be getting $19m a year? So like 365k a week? So sick lol

It's strange, I'm not as into sports this time of year as I usually would be with football. Yesterday passed like it was nothing, though I did manage to watch parts of the Green Bay - Philly game, and Vick looked pretty good.

I wonder if my indifference has to do with losing in a big fantasy baseball playoff week...

Hmm was kinda annoyed at myself yesterday. Only watched like the first half of the Bengals v Patriots. Will watch one of the games tonight though. Any advice on which I should watch?

Jets vs. Ravens is definitely the game to watch. If Chiefs even compete I'll be really impressed.

The amount of penalty yards in all the games I watched yesterday was surprising. Yeah it's the 1st game of the year but com'on.

They have competed. 🙂 That Rivers has no class at all. Saw his ranting & sulking shortly into the 2nd half. Can you even imagine Favre (or almost any QB) acting this way? Poor leadership, really sad. If I were on the offense on this team, I would hate him.

The return by Dexter McCluster was awesome! Chiefs played well but Chargers always start slow in the beggining of the season plus they dont have V Jackson.

I'm thinking Atlanta -6.5 vs Arizona at Atlanta is a solid bet for this week???

No excuses for the Chargers. If they don't have the mental toughness now, I doubt they're going to all of a sudden show it later. Maybe playing in that perfect weather is a detriment? They can't build the mental toughness they need 🙂

People, please use this thread. There have been like 5 new threads started after the opening games.

It'd be nice to keep it in here and the betting thread.
