Ongoing Soccer Thread

Yeah it's dumb.

I was reading last week about why stoppage time was introduced - turns out it was because in 1890something in a game between Villa and Stoke with Villa leading 1-0, Stoke won a penalty with 2 minutes left. The Villa keeper kicked the ball out of the ground and before they could recover it and take the penalty the time was up.

Imagine if that happened nowadays - FIFA would just spend years waffling and deciding that no action needed to be taken and meanwhile scores of games would have the exact same thing happening. It sucks. FIFA sucks.

until sep blatter f**ks off and fifa appoints somebody with a abit savvy and an open mind, the game will never get new technology.......
 
There's another one - Nolan goal disallowed v Man City - wrong again linesman! Thought the benefit of the doubt went to the attacking team? What about when he's half a yard ON-side?

Considering that an untrained Baboon would've done a better job at Liverpool than he did, I'm just mindboggled that a club like Chelsea would think that this is a good idea...
