It's been a long time, but opening day is finally back for the Washington Nationals.
The Nat's opening day series is in Chicago, against the Cubs. Washington was hot and won the opening game10-4. Off day today, then Saturday and Sunday
with the Cubs.

The Nationals came away from the 3 game series in Chicago with a win 6-3 over the Cubs.
That made for 2 wins out of 3 games. Jake Irwin was the winning pitcher and Joey Weimer is on a hitting streak to start the year. Weimer has 6 hits and 2 walks to start the season. We now have a 3 game series in Philadelphia starting tonight.

That hurt. We split the first 2 games with the Phillies before todays game. The Nationals were up 5-3 on the strength of CJ Abrams 3 run home run. In 9th the Phillies tied the game and then got the winning run in the 10th to win 6-5. Off tomorrow, then home for a series with the LA Dodgers.

too bad they are not visiting the san diego padres too . they'd likely come out ahead in that series

Much better, in fact wonderful. The Nationals just finished three games with the hot
Milwaukee Brewers. The Nats won the first game 7-3 with an explosive finish. Then won the second game with a pitchers duel 3-1. The third game, Washington was up 6-3 lale, got tied up by the Brewers with a three run homer, 6-6. The Nats got 2 runs in the eighth to go up 8-6
and held that lead to win a three game sweep of a very good Brewers team. Now on to Pittsburgh
for 4 four games at Three Rivers stadium.

What a great road trip. 7 games in 2 cities with 5 wins. We ended the 4 game series in Pittsburgh
with a hard fought 8-7 win in 10 innings. That win got us a 2-2 split of the 4 games. Now the Nationals are home in Washington for 7 games, first the San Francisco Giants for 3 games.

The Giants won the first game 10-5. The secand game probably should have been won by the Nationals,we were ahead late but the game was tied and went to extra innings. The Nationals had the bases loaded with no outs but failed to score. The Giants won 7-6 in the 12th inning. Today,
the Nats won 3-0. Next, we have 4 games with the hot Atlanta Braves.

Washington only managed to win 1 of the 4 games with Atlanta. First game went to Atlanta
9-4.Then we won 11-4. Atlanta won game 3, 8-6 and today Atlanta again 7-2. James Wood had 3 home runs in the 4 games and now leads the National League. Tomorrow, we are in Chicago
to play 3 games with the White Sox.

That was a great series for Washington. The White Sox won the first game 5-4 with a run in the
bottom of the ninth inning. The Nats won the second game 6-3, scoring 4 runs in the 10th inning.
Today was a pitchers game with the game tied 0-0 in extra innings. Washington got 2 runs in the
10th and Chicago got one, 2-1 win. Now on to New York for 3 games with the Mets.

The second game, it was Washington's turn. The Nats won 14-2. Good comeback for the Nats.
Today was game 3. Washington was up 3-0, then the Mets came back and tied the game 3-3.
The Mets got a run late to go up 4-3. The Nats game back to go up 5-4 and ended up with the
win and a 2-1 series win. Next 3 games with the Brewers.

Wow. Third game just finished. The Nats won 3-2 over the Brewers to salvage one win at home.
We lost the first game 6-1 and the second game 4-1. Nice to get one. Off tomorrow, then we
get the Twins for 3 games.

A good series. The Minnesota Twins were in town for 3 games. The Twins won the first game
11-3, no contest. In the second game, the Nationals turned things around and won 15-2.
Today was a close game , Washington took the lead late and held on for a 7-5 win.
2-1 series win. Now we go to Miami for 3 games with the Marlins.

Last Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Washington was in Miami to play the Marlins. The Nats won
the first game 3-2, lost the second game 8-7 and the third game 5-2. Two wins would have been
nice but at least we didn't lose all 3. Now three games in Cincinnati with the Reds.

The 3 games with the Reds were good, not great. Washington won the first game 10-4. The second game was an extra inning affair with the Nats pulling out an 8-7 win in 10 innings. The last game today was a blowout for the Reds, winning 15-1. About 5 of the runs came in the 8th inning with
a position player not a pitcher on the mound. Next we are home for 3 games with the Baltimore
Orioles.

Washington finally made it to a .500 won- lost record . We won the first 2 games of the 3 game series against Balyimore. The Nats won 3-2 and 13-3 to get to .500 but we fell back under today with a 7-3 loss. Next the New York Mets are in town for 4 games.

The New York Mets won the fourth game of the series to make it a 2-2 split. The Mets won the
first game 16-7. Washington came back and won the second game 9-6 and won the third game
8-4. The last game went to the Mets 2-1 for the split. Now Washington is in Atlanta for 3 games.
