I have been watching both the Fifa World Cup and the Wimbledon Tennis Championships. I am wondering if I will ever in my lifetime see a football/soccer match where there are NOT numerous examples of players faking injuries to get a free kick, or better still a yellow card on an opponent...it is so obvious on replay...the only way to stop this pathetic show, is to give offending players some stiff fines and suspensions...I remember a hockey player playing with a broken leg.

In tennis, I really don't understand how the coaches are responsible for a missed shot...and the again, these prima donna multi-millionaire players need their coach's approval for a good shot.

Does anyone else think that these childish antics are annoying?

no not the same at all,we whine in cards when we get beat by the 1 or 2 outer not because someone might have brushed my arm, keep getting unreal comparisons from people who love their football what I dont understand the fans that put up with the blatant diving and cheer them on then say the ref sucks.the ref may suck but with the diving that happens how is he supposed to know, you would think there would be some pride and honour in a game played by billions but there is none by any of these athletes:eek:

I've played sports my entire life (I'm under 40, even tho not as much as in my younger years, I'm still pretty active with multiple sport activities per week * mainly football and tennis), so I know this guys are faking it most of the time - you can even see it at this World Cup with the new rule that if they keep insisting they're 'injured' - they'll have to wait at least 1 minute before being allowed back on the pitch (unfortunately goalkeepers are excluded from this rule and I think this is why we've seen so many GK's get 'injured' a few times every match), so most of this players wait for like 10 seconds before standing up and continue like nothing happened... plus the diving part is insane - we've seen so many penalties overturn by VAR (last one yesterday at England vs. Norway), it's kinda insane as most of this players are in such good spots to score, but they still prefer to cheat even when there's video assistance... still, so many of this dives aren't reviewed because they're not goals/penalties/scoring opportunities or just a bad referee that is sure he made the correct decision and players get away with it... same with tennis - players take advantage of the rules and nowadays we see so many medical timeouts when they're not injured... long bathroom, even shower breaks  and I've seen Nole complaining this week that tennis has a very low number of young fans (IIRC in his interview he said something like the average age of a tennis fan is 50+ yo * I think he was talking about the ones that go to watch live), I mean the new generations that's used to shorts/reels will never watch 5+ hours of this childish antics...
