Hello everyone, I've been playing WPT Global's $500 daily freerolls and I've noticed that the field is much smaller than in GG Poker. I had 60BB and faced a rise from a conservative player at UTG. I had TT in the cutoff. What is your standard move in the early stages of a freeroll: equalize or make a 3-bet to isolate? I ended up equalizing and losing to a superior pair on a low board.

I think 3-betting pre here just bloats the pot. Flat calling is fine. The post flop is more important. Obviously we want to hit a T but barring that we hope to not see many broadways or completed draws on the board since we only have 2 outs for equity. 5 low cards is good for overpair but also 5 cards under T probably brings in some straights. Difficult to continue for large sizings here. Showdown was just a cooler.

Also, this post should be in hand analysis.

With 60BB or more we rarely 3-bet TT or even JJ against early position opens, because its a disaster for these hands to get 4-bet, and they dont block the original openers 4-betting range. So flatting pre is fine. Its impossible to say anything about postflop without the complete hand history.

With 60BB, I’d usually just call with TT against a tight UTG raise. A 3-bet can isolate, but against a conservative player it can also make the range you’re up against very strong. I prefer to keep the pot smaller and see how they play after the flop. Losing to a bigger pair on a low board happens sometimes, so I wouldn’t judge the decision only by the result.

I think it depends a lot on the moment and on the players; sometimes I decide to change the course of the game if I know the opponent's style of play.

It's not a good idea to 3bet if a lot of players flat before they call with everything... and you lost a lot of equity in 3 or 4 way with tt... I prefer flat and see the flop..

In freerolls, I usually play pretty tight in the early stages. There are often a lot of players making crazy moves, so I prefer to let them eliminate each other and avoid unnecessary risks. As the field gets smaller and the payouts get closer, I start opening up my range and playing more aggressively.

Poker is not about one sample size game .Its all about for infinite sample sizes, the more hand you play real world value has to converge with expected value and also its hence dynamics so adjusting is the key I would prefer to play from beginning because at beginning players get loose so easy to build stacks
