Hey everyone,
We all know players who manage to make a steady income playing online poker from the comfort of their homes. But behind the freedom, there is usually a killer mindset.
Let's be honest, the biggest trap online is volume. When we get busted, our immediate instinct is to register for another event. We all have that urge to just keep playing forever 😅.
However, some successful grinders swear by a strict rule: only one tournament per day. No matter what. The theory is that it keeps your focus at 100%, prevents mental fatigue, and completely eliminates rage-registering while on tilt.
What are your thoughts on this? Do any of you practice this "one shot" daily routine? Or do you feel like it severely limits your volume and slows down your bankroll growth?

Poker has high variance. Busting out of one tournament is easier to bear than losing several at once, which helps prevent losing control of your bankroll. For players who combine poker with work and study, it allows them to play mindfully while still enjoying leisure time.

I have never heard of any winning online players, who only play one tournament per day. I strongly dought, thats an optimal strategy.

I think that for poker, you need to preserve the 4 hours of daily concentration where you are effective. The rest of the hours is just useless grinding, in my opinion.

Honestly, I think the "One Tournament a Day" rule sounds great in theory for the mental game, but it’s almost impossible to execute. Especially when you open the lobby and see a beautiful grid full of simultaneous freerolls crying out for you to register! 😅 Total mission impossible.
On a more serious note, tournament variance is just too brutal. If you only play one a day, it could take ages to realize your true ROI. 📊 Personally, I prefer a middle ground: playing a set schedule with a few tables to get decent volume, but setting a strict "stop-registering" time to avoid chasing losses on tilt. 🛑

It is impossible to be profitable playing 1 tournament a day, unless you play a big series tournament and win, otherwise it is impossible

I honestly find it very difficult to be profitable playing just one tournament a day.
The variance in MTTs is already enormous. If you play at low limits, I think you need a very large volume of games before you can start seeing results. Playing one tournament a day seems more like a way to manage your time and avoid tilt than a strategy to maximize profit.
