i like it and i do often saves time
I asked a coach about this.nabmom said:For you, what are the advantages and disadvantages of late registration for a tournament? Do you avoid these types of tournaments or not?
Personally, I prefer tournaments that don’t have late registration, but I don’t mind it too much. I will always start on time, and appreciate the extra money into the prize pool. But I also feel that the “real” game doesn’t start until late registration is over.
I don’t avoid them. The main advantage of late registration is a bigger prize pool and more flexibility if you can’t start on time. The downside is that you often enter with a shorter stack and less room to maneuver.nabmom said:For you, what are the advantages and disadvantages of late registration for a tournament? I can understand that view. One hour of late registration feels reasonable, but when it stretches to 2–3 hours, the dynamic of the tournament can change quite a bit. It often encourages players to gamble more with marginal hands in an attempt to build a stack quickly.Like2Play2 said:Late registration, for 1 hour is normal,,
But late registration for 2 to 3 hours I stay away from. I find too many people going all in with crappy hands, just to build their stack with crap.
Just my opinion.
