I understand the basic idea that position is extremely important, but I'm interested in how much people actually change their ranges because of it. For example, how much wider are you opening from the button compared with early position in a tournament? Do you make much bigger adjustments against weak players, or do you generally stick close to your normal ranges?

Just as in cash games or poker tournaments, position is extremely important.

Sometimes your range isn't even important depending on the player type. If everyone's folded and you're at the button then a 3BB bet will either let you steal the blinds or you'll get a call. If they genuinely have a good hand you may get a re-raise. If they call you, then watch how they bet, it can tell you all that you need to know. A decently sized C-bet usually does the trick in most cases depending on the player type and their stats. If you get a re-raise pre-flop depending on the size I'd usually call and watch how much they bet on the flop.

But it ALL depends on the type of player you have to your left and their stats, how often they see the flop, how often they C-bet etc. Position is important but it becomes more powerful when you know what type of player they are. If they are a recreational player, then you got the upper-hand and will probably take their chips/$ over time.

It really changes a lot. As an example:
From utg you can open with +77, +,A3-4s, AT-Jo, K9-Ts, KQo, QTs, JTs.
From the button you can open +22-33, Ax, KXs, K2-5o, QXs, maybe JXs, suited connectors...
As you can see is a lot wider range

Position is everything. It determines how you should play and which hands you should play. It's one of the most important things you should study when you're starting out in poker. Just learning the basic fundamentals of positions and how they affect preflop play will improve your game a lot.

Acting last on the flop, turn, and river lets you see what your opponents do before you commit chips they check, hesitate, bet, or show weakness

Position is almost the most important factor. UTG you dont open often, only top range, as you have a lot of players and action behind that can attack you.

Late position you have good options to 3-bet and play postflop in position, decide to check back for equity or C bet.

From MP/CO your opening range starts getting wider if your first to act, from BTN and SB a lot of hands get mandatory to open.

This all depends on stacksize/BBs, how deep you are, table dynamics, ICM and Risk Premium. But yes, it is very important and almost not describeable in a text. Its learning a lot of ranges and takes time to improve.
