How much does a tournament depend on luck and how much depends on skill? 🃏

I'm interested to know what they think, especially those who have been playing tournaments for years. :Cold:

95% luck, 5% skill - don't let anyone tell you otherwise

In freerolls and micro-limits, especially in the early stages of the tournament, when almost the entire table is played, luck plays a bigger role than skill. But at later stages, when there are fewer and fewer crazy players and each player values their stack, skill starts to depend more on skill, but luck should still be on your side; it's almost impossible to win poker without luck.

Once you try tournament with high buy ins or once you reach the stage where you can't rebuy then kill us very much involved

Every hand that goes to showdon is a hand that you can loose due to variance,
even if you played it perfectly, if there is perfection in a game of incomplete information.
All hands that don´t give you the stone cold nuts on the flop are at risk to get outdrawn, this is the nature of the game.
This is why tournaments have much higher variance than cashgame.

i would say the ratio is about 80% skill and 10% good luck and 10% bad luck.
