How Did You Improve Your Results in Tournament Poker?

I have been playing poker tournaments for some time, especially freerolls, and I am always looking for ways to improve my game.

One thing I have learned is that patience is very important in tournaments. Sometimes it is better to wait for a good opportunity instead of playing too many hands, especially when the blinds are still low.

I also noticed that adjusting your strategy depending on your stack size is very important. When you have a short stack, you cannot wait forever, but you also need to choose the right moments to take risks.

I would like to hear from experienced players: what was the biggest change you made in your game that helped you achieve better results in tournaments?

I agree with you. I think focusing only on the result can make players frustrated because poker has a lot of variance. Making the correct decision in each situation is what helps us improve long term.

I also started reviewing my hands after tournaments, and it really helps me see mistakes that I didn't notice while playing. Learning when to apply pressure and when to stay patient is a big part of becoming a better tournament player.

For me, the biggest improvement came from learning to fold more. I used to feel like I had to be involved in every decent-looking spot, but tournament poker rewards patience and discipline. I also started paying much more attention to position, stack sizes, and how opponents were playing instead of focusing only on my own cards.
