I’ve been learning poker for about a year, but over the last six months I’ve been studying way more seriously. Till now, I’ve only played freerolls and never really tried a real-money MTT.

Over the last month, I made 10 final tables, so I’m kinda feeling ready to take the next step now.

Before I jump in, I wanna get some advice from people who play MTTs regularly. Which sites and tournaments do you guys usually play? What buy-ins and prize pools you prefer? And what should a beginner kinda watch out for when choosing an MTT?

Personally I enjoy 10+ min blind level MTT's. I like that you get too see and play more hands which in turn takes some of the luck out of the equation compared to turbos and hyper-turbos. I also personally mainly prefer $5+ MTT's as anything below that the competition and level of play isn't much different then freerolls. Also I play the majority of my MTT's on weekends as weekends offer the biggest prize pools.

When I have some time or wanna play during the week I'll play 2nl-10nl+ depending on how much I currently have on site. I find most weeks I can make enough playing cash to afford my weekend MTT buy-ins with a bit a profit left.....with that said of course not every week can be a winning week but on avg.

I play bounties, PKO, KO and freezeouts. As I don't re-buy I prefer freezeouts but there isn't many of them left sadly.

EDIT: I play mainly on Pokerstars and GG poker. I do have $52 in WPT Global but don't play there much.

Cheers!!!

Thanks, that’s really useful. I’m leaning toward slower MTTs too, since I want more hands to learn from and less pressure to gamble with short stacks.

As for sites I think, your choise will be severely limited by, where you live. I googled it, and it seems like, WPT Global, BC Poker and Natural8 (part of the GG Poker network) are your main options. Also seems like deposits and withdrawals are crypto only. So you probably want to get familiar with this before spending significant time playing online.

First commencing from freeroll to build from bankroll gradually micro tournaments and rather stakes should be increased along side study also required
