Why would it be better to wait? It will not be any easier to make the transition, even if you wait for 10 years, and the worst thing, that can happen, is, that you lose the money, that the sites gave you for free.

I built up a $100 bankroll playing freerolls. should I start paying buy-ins or is it better to wait a bit?
I’d start with very small buy-ins, but I wouldn’t jump too high yet. Maybe use a small part of the $100 bankroll for micro MTTs and keep playing some freerolls too. If you have a bad run, you still have enough bankroll to keep playing and building it up. The main thing is not to risk the whole $100 too quickly.

Just play, you would have been better off already playing.

This doesn't mean just abandon freerolls to help keep the BR up. Just play a few $1 games each session snd after you've played 20 or so, just see where your BR is....if you are losing, then take a break, if not then keep going, keep learning, and hopefully making progress

Yes start playing some buy-ins but no more than $2, $1 would probably be better for now, but keep playing freerolls as this will help increase your bankroll.
As your bankroll starts going up you can increase your buy-ins but as it goes down decrease them.(Bankroll management).

$100 is not a big bankroll, believe me, it can vanish very quickly.
Keep making quality posts so you will qualify for more cardschat freeroll tournaments.
My advice would be to keep building your skills playing Cardschat freerolls and see if youcan build at least 5 times that $100.
Then buy-in at the very lowest tournament levels. Only increase your buy-ins if you can double up to $1,000. Then still keep buying in around $5.
Under no circumstances play cash games. They are far more difficult and will bleed your bankroll dry extremely quickly.

You have $100; with that bankroll, you can play $1 tournaments, but if you don't feel confident, play $0.50 tournaments.
