Playing tight doesn’t mean you should sit around waiting for premium hands while your stack slowly disappears.
Tight simply means you’re choosing hands carefully, not playing scared.
Good poker isn’t about being “tight” or “aggressive” — it’s about adapting to the players at your table and the position you’re in.
If the table is full of loose players who call everything, you tighten up and value‑bet harder.
If the table is full of nits who fold too much, you open more hands and steal more pots.
Your big blind going down doesn’t automatically mean you should start blasting away; it just means you should defend smartly and avoid folding too much for free.
Position matters too — hands that are unplayable in early position can be profitable on the button.
The real goal is to stay flexible, read the table, and adjust your ranges instead of locking yourself into one style.
When you think this way, you stop worrying about being “tight” or “aggressive” and start focusing on making the best decision in each spot.

Yes, when the blinds get high, playing too tight can slowly kill your stack. You don’t have to go crazy aggressive, but you should start opening more hands, especially from late position. Look for good spots to steal blinds and apply pressure, otherwise you will get too short and lose fold equity.

I think the main problem here is fear.
When the pile of cards gets smaller, we know we should play more hands, but sometimes we wait for good cards. This often worsens the situation.
At some point, you need to take risks and be more aggressive. And if it doesn't work out and your chips are too short, the option is to go all-in or give up. That's part of the game.

Sometimes aggression is necessary. But you have to understand when it is worth changing your game. It all depends on the situation, your opponents, and the structure of the tournament.

When passive or standard play doesn't produce results, aggression can help create new opportunities.Aggressive play forces you to make decisions faster and trains your reaction time.If your opponents are much stronger, aggression will only lead to a rapid loss of resources and frustration. It's better to observe and learn.

Technically:
Opposite to tight is loose. Opposite to agressive is passive.
Passive is when you call. Agressive is when you raise.
Tight or loose depends on how many cards you decide to play.

You can play tight and agressive, why not?

Playing too tight when the blinds get high is a slow way to lose your stack. You don’t need to go crazy, but you do need to adapt. Open up your range in late position, steal blinds when you can, and apply smart pressure instead of waiting only for premium hands. Tight is good early but later on, controlled aggression keeps you alive.

Que This will depend on the moment of the game, your position, your opponents; you should analyze and play passively at times and aggressively at others.

playing tight is playing scared.... know who you are playing and exploit them because they know you play tight.
