What's the toughest stage of a tournament?

A) Early game

B) Bubble

Early game, I skip it whenever possible. I don't play well deep stacked as I don't really have a good feel for overbetting.

It's bubble or final 2 tables, depending on the structure and payout. It's a stressful time and tricky to pick your spots whether to attack or get out.

Early game is easy. It's normal deep stack poker, just beware the crazy punters. Final table certainly there is stress and tough decisions, but given stacks often the decisions are simple at least. Well, am I jamming this guy or not? sort of thing.

I love the later stages because a lot of fish have no idea how to adapt their game for when the stacks change and the field narrows. They are still trying to open and call with normal ranges when most players at the table are under 25bb. It's incredible how many players who actually play okay decent poker in the early stages suddenly limp in pre and check-fold the flop with 6bb. I never get tired of seeing that.

I dont think, any stage is particularly tough in general. Its more about specific situations like being second in chips and having the chip leader on your direct left, which can be a bit tough or at least annoying. On the other side of the spectrum playing a 10-12 BB stack is usually pretty easy, since you can limit your decisions to folding or jamming preflop or maybe occationally take a cheap flop from the blinds.

The most important thing in the late stages of a tournament is not to push players whose sack is more than 4 times greater than yours.Sometimes it really is beneficial to "sit it out", but this is rare.

I think it mainly depends on your stack size and position in the tournament. I'd say it's the final two tables for me

I think it depends a lot on your experience, but I'd choose Final table.

For me personally, it isn't necessarily the hardest stage, but I think it's where most players struggle the most. Many become too focused on moving up the pay ladder and end up playing far too few hands because they don't want to risk busting before the next pay jump. Ironically, that overly cautious approach often hurts their chances of winning.

My second choice would be The bubble. That's another difficult stage because nobody wants to be eliminated just before the money, so the pressure can lead players to make decisions they normally wouldn't.

For me, the most difficult stage is the bubble (B). After several years of playing tournaments, this is the phase where strategy changes the most. The pressure to be eliminated with nothing causes many players to play too conservatively, while others try to take advantage of that fear to steal the blinds. You have to make very careful decisions because a single mistake can leave you out after hours of gaming. That's why I consider it the most difficult part of a tournament.

AGREE, must play each stage differently.
Ultimately, "Variance Stage" can be the killer.

I think in the early stages it is more difficult to play with a lot of chips; you can get into a difficult situation on the flop or turn, while in the later stages, with few chips, you are forced into a push-or-fold situation before the flop, where it is easier to make a decision.

For me it's the early stages of a tourney where I have problem . Because after that it's more fun to handle your stack . In the beginning, the attempts to build a stack , make sb pay me .

The hardest part is when you're unlucky and you're out of the tournament. This can happen at any stage of the tournament.

Man, I'll speak for myself. The toughest stage for me is the bubble—especially in micro-stakes games with buy-ins up to $10. You’re UTG with 50 big blinds, open a pair of Jacks (JJ), and get 3-bet by the Hijack (who you know is a weak player), followed by a 4-bet all-in from the Button by a player you don't know. What would you do in that situation? Well, I’d fold 75% of the time, given the stage of the tournament—specifically, the bubble.

A early game, everybody go wild with made hands or huge bluffs ,very difficult
