Pocketehs, about that A9,

You shouldnt even have called it PF to a UTG raise I think

It was fine with 4 others already in the pot imo, being multiway increases your implied odds.

H1 guy is a fish and u don't make a mistake calling flop instead.

H2 bet the flop, best board ever to cbet

H3 he isn't bluffing with this line and river is too thin a call when 7 hits, especially with his big sizing on river, all hands got there

I really wanted to fold the river cause no one ever bluffs at 5NL. Just don't see what he can ever play this way. Thoughts?

i don't mean pure air but things like trips and two pair can bet or check back whereas if you bet the river you can be raised by better or worse considering our line is "air heavy" but either way you are folding.

Folding to river bets isn't terrible either after you check it to a possible nit.

Poker book is a good idea I have actually started at the bottom with black rains book recently.

Read Blackrain's book yesterday and will do many more times over the next month so more absorbs in. This is what has happened since. I am no way saying it's worked yet as this is a tiny sample but the changes I have made have certainly led to a more enjoyable grind so far. Long, long way to go though...

He needs to be bluffing more than about 20% of the time for you to make that call. He's unknown, so we know nothing about his aggression or bluffing tendencies but with that board I would imagine that river raises are rarely bluffs and his sizing kind of looks like he's going for value, so folding is fine is fine I think as, like you say, his value range crushes you.

Matt, on 99 I'm folding the river because I can't avoid the preflop spew factor where he can have some 6x...

On the A9, it's a bit gross, b/c it's 5nl and he might over-value worse trips, but even when he does, his value range looks something like T9, 87, QJss, ATss, KTss, TT, 98, J9. Which we only beat 8 combos of. Good enough to call, but we have to know he can over-value trips. If he can also show up with Q9 and K9 then this seems a clear call. If we don't think so then I just fold.

And KT hand looks good imo.

99) 64s lol.

A9) I don't think he overvalues trips here, this reeks of slowplay and I don't think he is slowplaying Q9 to raise this river. Far too thin for 5NL players IMO.

Then good fold with A9. And lol 64s. But yeah. Like in that spot I'm probably giving credit for a 6 just because I can't see him playing anything else that way and bluffs seem to make even less sense than him having a 6 in his hand.

Great!

Scourrge said:
Frankly the fact that he played a flop set that badly leads me to believe I get paid by QT+ there as well, but that might be wishful thinking :D

And Matt, it would make no sense to switch sites really. I'm confident I'll move up eventually, just need to run decent when shot-taking (yet to happen at 25nl obv). And Bovada is so fishy + decent traffic compared to other US sites that it seems foolish to move anywhere.

Oh, and please, for the love of god, berate any and all spew (thanks so much to all that watch regularly).

Meh. Regardless of whether I GII OTF or OTT I'm losing to his stupid mofo KJ. Just wondering if slowplaying flop to let him ship turn with his spaz hands is best.

TBH, I get it in otf, cos he's not minraising TP and folding.

I've just made a vid... not happy with the way I played, but I did have a spot where I had an overpair and he had TP in a smallish 4bet pot and I gii otf. He was a tard too though.

Hmmm, I dunno, you see people doing this with overpairs? I mean, we have to think he's hit a set to do that, but... well I guess it's a fold.

Vid still rendering, gonna post it in my thread as soon as it's up, which at this rate will be a lot later today.
