Utg is always gonna call pre-flop if you just cold call the 3 bet so why not 4 bet it if the CO is very nitty, or I would etleast raise the flop, your asking to be sucked out on here tbh.

OK CO is nitty like 16/12 or something but I remember he has a 4% 3bet stat so has QQ+ and AK in his range, and I don't want him to fold the weaker part of his range. If his 3bet was 2% then yeah I would ship it.

Also I think UTG would fold to a 4bet.

micro id be raising that flop since 88+ dont fold and we dont want a A-Q to peel off and kill our action. preflop is ok but id still 4bet small and expect to go 3 way to a flop or gii pre

SO, thinking about when 4betting or flatting a 3bet is better when you have KK+

4betting is better:
- vs nits with very tight 3b ranges
- vs maniacs who will call a 4bets or GII light
- vs multiple opponents
- when you are OOP

Flatting might be better:
- vs aggressive opponents with high 3bet stats
- vs a single opponent
- when you are IP

Does that sound about right? Any other considerations?

flatting is better if they auto barrel their entire range post
if they are bluff weighted.
if they dont flat 4bets with the middle/bottom of their range. (if they 3b/f JJ-88 for value for example)
if it will induce overcalls from people that will stack off too light post.

its also worth noting that as the SPR diminishes position becomes less important and initiative becomes more important

Thanks duggs

if they are bluff weighted. yep, by 'aggressive opponents' above I meant aggressive/bluffy enough postflop to pay us off

if they dont flat 4bets with the middle/bottom of their range. (if they 3b/f JJ-88 for value for example) hard to get enough hands on villains to know this I would imagine...at least at the micros where hardly any 4bet bluffing goes on. Is there a stat you would look at for that or would it be more something you would take a note on?

if it will induce overcalls from people that will stack off too light post. you mean fish that will be scared off by a 4bet but will happily stack off with TPGK postflop?

its also worth noting that as the SPR diminishes position becomes less important and initiative becomes more important I suspected this may be the case :)

regarding agg v bluffy i think its a fundamental difference, someone who is 3betting a shit ton but most of it air sould be flatted, someone that 3bets 77+ AJo+ and doesnt fold much of it to a 4bet shouldnt be.

pretty much note show down hands, if someone calls a 4bet with JJ/1010 and gets to showdown then you know that they arent folding and we should be 4betting for value expecting flats. the obvious ones are people that show and fold (and tell you that they put you on AA)

yep exactly, although in that last hand id be so tempted to virtually click it back , expect the fish to overcall still, and the CO can just 5bet rip or 5bet massive, and we get it in 3 ways.

same can apply in any pot, ie flatting QQ v button open so that the uber fish BB comes along. although i almost never do this in practice.

i also suck at cash guys

Hehe, that's what I thought until I chatted with him in the Skype group. Turns out he's doing the same thing as me, playing 4NL on a dodgy site! :D

The only difference being, he doesn't seem to be enjoying it as much as me.

Haha in theory it'll only be for a short while and then I'll switch back to OTHER dodgy site and play 10nl. Though I just binked a nano-buy-in bounty tourney last night for $50+change, so I might actually end up moving up on Lock.

Quick update brag. Was given €5 gratos to sign up to a dodgy site. Played 8k odd hands, a mixture of 2NL and 4NL (with a couple of hands at 10NL). BOOM!

Coaching still available, rates still unchanged, very reasonable.

Wow that's so gross. I like the whole hand, though I think we're chopping or losing to AK fairly often.

Actually given how passive he is I guess he can have some sets and straights here too >.<

Now I'm not even convinced it's a GII spot, but b/c it's 5nl and he's a relative unknown I prob still do the same.

WP, I would just call river though but not a big difference. H.U.D shows absolutely nothing here as 19 hands isn't enough.
